Christina Yvonne Cole is a well-known American actress and singer. She was born on August 4, 1943, in the United States. The character of Katie Miller Douglas in the television comedy My Three Sons, which she played from 1967 to 1972, brought her the most fame. In the early stages of her acting career, she appeared as Sunny Day in a total of eight episodes of the 1963 television detective series Hawaiian Eye. Palm Springs Weekend is a movie about a spring break party that takes place in Palm Springs, California, and it was released in 1963. She had an uncredited supporting role in the movie as Ruth Stewart.
In spite of the fact that her part as Katie Miller Douglas on My Three Sons is the one for which she is most known, she had her first appearance on the show in 1966, when she played Robbie’s friend Joanne. This was before the character of Katie was ever written for the show. In addition, she appeared on the program playing the role of Sherry during the fifth season. During the early 1970s, she had guest appearances on a number of different television shows, including To Rome with Love, The Rookies, and Adam-12. She had her first appearance as a vocalist on Eleanor and Franklin, an ABC TV miniseries, in 1976. The following year, she made another singing performance in the sequel to the miniseries.
In addition, beginning in 1966, Cole was a member of the Four King Cousins, a quartet that was a subset of the King Family Singers. Following his departure from television, Cole went on to direct productions at the Sacramento Children’s Theatre. She returned to on-screen acting in 2013, having previously worked as an acting instructor at the John Robert Powers acting schools in Roseville and Elk Grove, both located in the state of California.
In the latter half of 2013, she had performances with her King Cousins, which consisted of her sister Cathy and her cousins Candy and Carolyn. She also made a one-time engagement at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood in the month of November. They appeared at the same club again in succeeding months, in April 2014 and August 2016, respectively. She is a follower of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tina Cole remembers very well the last time she was reunited with Don Grady, her former co-star and the man she loved very much.
It was the year 2008 when the couple had finally found one other again after a long separation. Beverly Garland, who portrayed Fred MacMurray’s second wife on their CBS TV series “My Three Sons,” has gone away at the age of 82. “My Three Sons” aired for nine seasons between 1965 and 1975. “The last time I saw him was at Beverly’s funeral, her memorial,” Cole said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “At that time, I can’t say for certain whether or not he was aware that he had cancer. He looked fantastic. It could have been handled better. We exchanged bear hugs with each other. After that, I found out that Dad had cancer via one of his writing partners, who really got the information through my sister. And it was difficult for me since he didn’t tell me directly, so I wasn’t sure whether or not I should say anything about it. On the other hand, I wrote to him.
And he responded to my letter. He said that “Anything I have to say would not do either of us any good,” and I completely agree with him. And then he told me, ‘I will always love you.'” In 2012, at the age of 68, singer and actor Grady died away. He was most known for his role as a Mouseketeer on “The Mickey Mouse Club,” where he got his start in the entertainment industry. Cole, who is now 79 years old, has just published a biography on her life and work titled “My Three Lives.” In it, the daughter of musician Buddy Cole and Yvonne King of the singing King Sisters said that she and Grady had fallen in love while working on the set of “My Three Sons,” but that it was not intended to be a long-lasting affair between the two of them.
“He was a wonderful man,” remarked Cole as he fought back the tears. “He had an incredible talent in addition to being a good husband and parent. His music was fantastic in every way. He was talented in many areas. He was able to mend anything. He was the very definition of a Renaissance guy. But for the stars, it wasn’t instantaneous love at first sight. Although the first episode of “My Three Sons” was shown in 1960, Cole did not join the cast until 1964. The situation comedy focuses on Steve Douglas, played by Fred MacMurray, a widower who is responsible for raising his three kids with the assistance of his father-in-law and the boys’ great-uncle. According to Cole, Grady was upset to learn that she would be playing his on-screen love interest.
“He didn’t think I was right,” Cole said with a smile. “He desired someone like Ronne Troup or Peggy Lipton – you know, the sort of surfer lady that is tall, lean, and has long hair. And here I am, this round and effervescent little creature that bounces and rolls. It’s a good thing I didn’t know that because if I had, things would have been very uncomfortable. However, throughout the first week of filming, we were required to engage in a great deal of making out and necking. We kept running into each other and were at a loss as to which direction to go. Simply put, it was uncomfortable. Obviously, I was unaware that Don was not head over heels in love with me because of my personality. Cole said that she initially sensed sparks between herself and Grady as the two got closer to one another. She often visited his house, which served as the location for telethon rehearsals. During this period, her relationship with her TV producer husband, Volney Howard III, was becoming more strained.
“It was a moment where we both kind of just went, ‘Oh my gosh, this is different than what we’ve been playing for two years,'” said Cole. “It was a moment where we both kind of just went, ‘Oh my gosh, this is different.” “Although we were living apart, I was not yet prepared to call it quits on the marriage.” Just now, we had the epiphany that ‘Well, we can’t do that.’ After that, during the next month or two, I came to the conclusion that my marriage was over, and I was falling in love with him.
