Sean Hannity Bio

Sean Patrick Hannity is a well-known American talk show host, conservative political pundit, and author. He was born on December 30, 1961, in the United States. He is the host of The Sean Hannity Show, which is a talk radio program that is syndicated nationally, and he has been the host of a commentary program on Fox News called Hannity ever since the year 2009. In 1989, Hannity was a general contractor and also volunteered as a talk show host at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

After that, he became a part of WVNN in Athens, Alabama, and not long after that, he joined WGST in Atlanta. After he left WGST, he worked at WABC in New York until 2013 till he moved on to other things. Hannity has been employed at WOR continuously since 2014. Hannity and Alan Colmes began hosting the talk show Hannity & Colmes on Fox in 1996. Hannity amalgamated the Hannity & Colmes show into his own Hannity show after Colmes stated in January 2008 that he would be leaving the show.

Conspiracy theories such as “birtherism” (claims that then-President Barack Obama was not a valid citizen of the United States), accusations involving the death of Seth Rich, inaccuracies regarding Hillary Clinton’s health, and bogus claims of electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election have all been advocated by Hannity. When it came to the presidential race in 2016, Hannity was one of the first people to back Donald Trump and frequently served as an unofficial spokesperson for him.

When Donald Trump was president, aides in the White House referred to Sean Hannity as the “shadow” chief of staff.  It was also claimed that Hannity called the White House most weeknights to speak with Trump. According to Forbes, by the year 2018, Sean Hannity had become one of the most-watched hosts on cable news and one of the most listened-to hosts on talk radio. This was in part owing to the fact that he was particularly close to Trump and had access to him.

Before and during the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, he privately pleaded with members of the Trump administration to desist from some of their attempts to prevent Trump from losing the presidency and to urge the president’s supporters to leave the building. The university that Hannity attended, Liberty University, has awarded him an honorary degree. In 2003 and 2007, he was honored with prizes bestowed by the National Association of Broadcasters.

He is the author of three books that have reached the number one spot on the New York Times best-seller list: Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty over Liberalism; Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism; and Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama’s Radical Agenda. In the year 2020, he will publish a fourth book titled Live Free or Die. Hugh and Lillian Hannity, whose maiden name was Flynn, gave birth to their son in New York City, New York. Hannity is their son.

Lillian was a stenographer and a prison officer at a county jail, and Hugh was a veteran of World War II and an officer in the family court. He was the only boy in a family of four children and the youngest of his siblings. His entire paternal family traveled all the way from Ireland to settle in the United States. He spent his childhood in Franklin Square, which is located in New York on Long Island.

When Sean Hannity was younger, he had a job as a paperboy, delivering copies of the New York Daily News and the Long Island Daily Press. Initially, his parents were staunch backers of John F. Kennedy for president, but as time went on, they shifted their political leanings to become more conservative. Nevertheless, they avoided engaging in overt political discourse in the household.

Sacred Heart Seminary, located in Hempstead, New York, was Hannity’s alma mater. as well as the Saint Pius X Preparatory Seminary, which is located in Uniondale, New York. Although he attended both New York University and Adelphi University, he was unable to complete his degree at either institution. In 1982, Hannity launched a company that provided residential painting services, and a few years later, he found work in the construction industry in Santa Barbara, California.

While still employed full-time in the construction industry, he debuted as a talk radio host in 1989 on the student-run station KCSB-FM at the University of California, Santa Barbara. There were a total of forty hours of air time devoted to the show. When asked about his first show, he responded by saying, “I wasn’t good at it. I was a horrible person.” After less than a year on the air, Hannity’s weekly show on KCSB was terminated as a result of controversy. The topic of homosexual and lesbian rights was debated in a manner that was thought to be controversial during two separate performances.

A campaign that was run on Hannity’s behalf by the Santa Barbara chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union alleged that the station had discriminated against Hannity’s First Amendment rights. As a result of this campaign, the university board that oversaw the station eventually changed its judgment and reinstated Hannity’s access to the airwaves. Hannity did not return to KCSB when the station refused to provide him with a public apology and additional airtime for his comments.

After leaving KCSB, Hannity advertised himself as “the most talked about college radio host in America” in several radio periodicals. This was done after he had left that position at KCSB. After that, he was offered a job as the host of the afternoon talk program on the radio station WVNN in Athens, Alabama, which is a part of the Huntsville media market. In 1992, he relocated from Huntsville to WGST in Atlanta.

There, he filled the position that had been left vacant by Neal Boortz, who had moved to the competing station WSB. Roger Ailes, the co-founder of Fox News, hired Sean Hannity, who was relatively unknown at the time, to host a television program in September 1996. The working title of the program was Hannity and LTBD (which stands for “liberal to be determined”). After that, Alan Colmes was brought on as a co-host, and the show was rebranded as Hannity & Colmes when it first aired.

Later in that year, Hannity left WGST and moved to New York, where WABC recruited him to fill in as the anchor of their afternoon drive-time program during the week leading up to Christmas. In January of 1997, Hannity was given the late-night time slot by WABC, which marked the beginning of his full-time employment at the station. After that, WABC relocated Hannity to the same drive-time spot that he had already filled temporarily just a little over a year earlier. Beginning in January 1998, Hannity held down the afternoon time slot on WABC.
