Bio

Footballer Ronaldinho, who hails from Brazil, is widely regarded as one of the game’s all-time greats at the position he plays. He was a key member of the Brazilian team that won the World Cup in 2002 and is renowned for his skill as a dribbler, as well as his technique, trickery, and overhead kicks. In 2002, while competing in his very first World Cup, he scored the game-winning goal in a victory over England that took place in the quarterfinals. He was a member of the offensive trio that helped make the Brazilian squad one of the most formidable ones in international football. The other two members of the attacking trio were Ronaldo and Rivaldo. Ronaldinho, who was the son of a semi-professional footballer, had an interest in the sport at a young age and began competing for his youth club when he was only eight years old. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time.

He first came to the notice of the media when, at the age of 13, he scored all 23 goals in a triumph against a local team that ended with a score of 23–0. It was during the 1998 Copa Libertadores that he made his senior side debut. Eventually, he signed a five-year contract with the French club Paris Saint-Germain in the year 2001. Prior to this, he was recognized as a rising star. While competing in the World Cup in 2002 for Brazil, he was a part of the Brazilian team and contributed significantly to the success of his country’s bid for the title. Later on, he signed with FC Barcelona, a team that plays in the Spanish league, and he went on to have a lot of success there over the next few years, earning the FIFA World Player of the Year award back-to-back years in 2004 and 2005.

On March 21, 1980, he was given the name Ronaldo de Assis Moreira and was born in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, which serves as the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. His mother, Dona Miguelina Elói Assis dos Santos, was a salesperson, and his father, Joo de Assis Moreira, worked at a shipyard and played football for a local team. Joo de Assis Moreira was the man who introduced him to football. Ronaldinho made his senior team debut in the 1998 Copa Libertadores after signing his first professional deal to play for Grêmio. Ronaldinho’s first professional contract was with Grêmio.

While he was playing for the squad, he was able to accomplish a great deal of success and helped them win the first-ever Copa Sul-Minas. In general, he had a very good career with Barcelona, and on February 3, 2008, he played his 200th career match for the team in a league match against Osasuna. This match was part of the league. However, he struggled through much of the 2007-2008 season with a variety of injuries. He has won the Don Balón Award for Foreign Player of the Year in La Liga on two separate occasions . He was named FIFA World Player of the Year in both 2004 and 2005, winning the honor both years in a row. In September of 2005, he was awarded the title of FIFPro World Player of the Year for the first time. In the same year, he was also honored with the title of Best Footballer in Europe.

He was included in Pelé’s “FIFA 100” list, which is a compilation of the greatest active players from around the world. After agreeing to terms with Milan for a period of three years in July of 2008, he ended his debut season with the club having scored 10 goals in 32 total appearances across all competitions. His time spent at Milan did not yield very positive results, and in 2011 he moved on to play for Flamengo.

In June of 2012, he signed a contract to play with Atlético Mineiro and made the transfer there. In 2013, he was a major contributor to the team’s victory in the Campeonato Mineiro and led his club to its first-ever victory in the Copa Libertadores. Because of his contributions to the team’s overall success, his contract was extended in January of 2014, and he continued to play for the club until July of that same year. In September of 2014, he put pen to paper on a deal to play for the Mexican side Querétaro for the next two years.

In 2001, he signed a five-year contract with the French club Paris Saint-Germain and went on to play an important part in the 2001–02 season of the Coupe de la Ligue, helping his team advance all the way to the semi-finals before being ousted by Bordeaux. He was a member of the Brazilian national football squad that triumphed in the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and took home the trophy. During his time with the team, he played a prominent role with two other legendary football players, Ronaldo and Rivaldo.

In 2003, he signed with FC Barcelona to compete in the Spanish league, and the following year, he earned his first league title. During this time, he was considered to be at the pinnacle of his career and was awarded the title of FIFA World Player of the Year for two years in a row.He was an integral part of Barcelona’s run to their first Champions League championship in almost a decade and a half, which they accomplished during the 2005–2006 season. He had a phenomenal season overall and concluded it with a career-high 26 goals, including 7 in the Champions League. His performance was outstanding throughout the entire season. In November of 2006, he scored his 50th goal in the league during his career against Villarreal. He began playing organized football when he was a little child, inheriting the enthusiasm for the game that his father had passed down to him. When Ronaldinho was only eight years old, his father, whom he looked up to as a hero, passed away after a heart attack.

During this period, he became an active participant in matches held by the local youth club, and during this time he gained the nickname “Ronaldinho.” At the age of 13, he scored all 23 goals in a victory over a local team that ended with a score of 23–0. This was the first time that he gained widespread attention. In 1997, he was chosen to play for Brazil’s Under-17 national team, and he contributed to his country’s success at the FIFA Under-17 World Championship, which was held in Egypt.
