Bloom first gained notoriety for her humorous music videos posted on YouTube, notably the video “Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury,” which was nominated for a Hugo Award. She has also made appearances in a number of movies, such as “Most Likely to Murder”, “The Angry Birds Movie 2”, “Trolls World Tour”, “Bar Fight, and “The School for Good and Evil”. Bloom penned and performed the song “Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury” in April of 2010, and the song quickly developed a cult following once it was published on the 90th birthday of Ray Bradbury in 2010.
The Martian Chronicles, which is one of her favorite books by Ray Bradbury, served as the inspiration for this song. There was a snapshot of Bradbury that was purportedly showing him viewing the video that was uploaded on the internet. During her time at Saturday Night Live, she served as an intern for Seth Meyers, the head writer. She submitted an audition tape in 2012, which featured a segment of her impersonating Katharine Hepburn providing the voice for Bugs Bunny in Space Jam. Unfortunately, her attempt at getting on the program was not successful.
Please Love Me was Bloom’s debut album of musical comedy, and it was published on May 13, 2013. The album included two songs that became internet sensations: “Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury” and “You Can Touch My Boobies.”Her second studio album, titled Suck It, Christmas, was released on November 19, 2013, and it includes the song “Chanukah Honey” as well as a humorous take on the holiday of Chanukah. Bloom provided the voice of Princess Peach for the song “Luigi’s Ballad” on the self-titled debut album that Starbomb released on December 17, 2013. Bloom is credited with co-writing the song “Super Friend,” which was sung by Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin. The song was included on the musical crossover episode of Supergirl and The Flash titled “Duet,” as well as the CD produced by the show.
At the annual banquet that was conducted by East West Players on April 25, 2016, Bloom was presented with the “Visionary Award.” East West Players is the longest-running professional theater of color in the United States. The purpose of the award is to recognize “individuals who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American community through their craft.” Her show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was praised for its choice to cast an Asian-American guy in a position that subverted tropes and stereotypes in the main role of the show. Bloom has previously contributed his writing skills to the television shows Allen Gregory and Robot Chicken. Bloom taped a half-hour pilot for Showtime on May 7, 2015, directed by Marc Webb.
The pilot was co-executive produced by Aline Brosh McKenna, who was also a co-executive producer on the project. In the end, it was decided that The CW will air it throughout the autumn and winter seasons of 2015–2016. After making the move from cable to network television, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend evolved into a highly praised hour-long series with more material that was suitable for network television. It also includes a variety of musical numbers. The first episode of the program aired on October 12th, 2015. Bloom tied the knot with her long-term lover of six years, the writer, actor, producer, and director Dan Gregor, in the year 2015. A rabbi who was her cousin officiated the wedding ceremony. They are parents to a girl who was born in the year 2020.

Bloom made an appearance in the episode of Bill Nye Saves the World titled “The Sexual Spectrum” in April of 2017, performing the song “My Sex Junk” which was about the gender and sexual spectrum. Due to the contentious nature of both the performance and the episode, they were met with a variety of reactions, including pushback from conservative organizations and threats made against Bloom through social media. There was consideration for an Emmy award given for the episode.
In the film Most Likely to Murder, Bloom appeared with Adam Pally and Vincent Kartheiser in the role of a co-star. Bloom’s husband, director Dan Gregor, was behind the camera for this project. In March of 2018, it had its world debut at the SXSW Film Festival, and in May of the same year, it was made available digitally and on demand.
