In addition, the single “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” was awarded a gold certification and included on the Magazines or Novels album. Andrew Charles Grammer was the son of recording artist Robert Crane “Red” Grammer and Kathryn Willoughby, and he was born in Los Angeles.

He has ancestors from both Germany and England. He attended Monroe-Woodbury High School and spent his childhood in the town of Chester in New York. When he was a kid, he taught himself how to play the trumpet, and later he taught himself how to play the guitar and the piano. At the age of 15, he started creating songs. When he was twenty years old, he withdrew from Binghamton University, which is located in Vestal, New York, and moved back to Los Angeles, which is where he still resides. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in music industry studies from California State University, Northridge in 2007, where he studied music business.

Louisiana K Grammer was born on July 28, 2017, while Israel Blue Grammer is due to arrive on April 3, 2020. His daughters are the products of his relationship with Aijia. Both he and Aijia are devout followers of the Baha’i faith.

Grammer’s career in music began when he was a street performer on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade. In July 2009, his manager Ben Singer was the one who found him, and he signed with S-Curve Records in April of the following year. Songs such as “Honey, I’m Good.,” “Keep Your Head Up,” “Fine by Me,” “Fresh Eyes,” “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah),” and “Don’t Give Up on Me” are among Grammer’s most well-known works.

On the Rachael Ray Show, which aired on November 17, 2010, he gave a performance of the song. Since then, it has made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at position No. 94.

Grammer was able to claim the top spot on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart with the sales of his first studio album in its first week of release. His first studio album, titled Andy Grammer, was issued by S-Curve Records on June 14, 2011, marking the beginning of his career. Matt Wallace of Maroon 5, Matt Radosevich, Dave Katz, and Sam Hollander of Gym Class Heroes were the ones responsible for producing the band’s self-titled album.

Grammer is quoted as saying on the new album: My ultimate objective is to make an effort to be authentic. It just so happens that when I’m writing, I’m more likely to be happy than upset most of the time. My outlook on life, which is that it’s awesome to be alive and that things are going quite well, can be heard in my music. I don’t have a pessimistic attitude toward life, but that doesn’t mean I try to write upbeat music. Simply said, that’s who I am.

He accompanied Natasha Bedingfield on her Less is More Tour, which started in June 2011, as well as Colbie Caillat on her tour of the United States and Canada, which started in August 2011. Beginning in May 2011, he was presented at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles as part of the first chapter of the museum’s series highlighting native and local artists. In addition to his participation on the show, he launched a new single on August 24 entitled “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah).” The song was another gold-certified smash for him and was included on a re-issued deluxe version of his Magazines or Novels album.
