Michael was named after his father. He began his career in stand-up comedy when he was just a youngster, but his innate comic skill was noticed and praised from an early age. However, the great comic got associated with gangs, quit high school, and served 18 months in prison for drug charges, which forced him to focus on a career as an entertainer instead of other pursuits.

Epps uprooted his life and moved to Atlanta, where he immediately found work at the Comedy Act Theater. In 1995, he uprooted his life and moved to Brooklyn so that he could appear as a guest star on two episodes of HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam.” In the film “Strays,” which marked Vin Diesel’s debut as a filmmaker in 1997, he made his acting debut. The film is about a drug dealer and hustler who searches for meaning in his life after he has become bored with it.

In the year 2000, he made a cameo appearance in the screwball comedy titled “3 Strikes,” as well as a supporting role in the motion picture “Bait,” which was Jamie Fox’s first feature. In the film “Dr. Dolittle 2,” which was released in 2001, Epps played the role of Sonny. Later that same year, he appeared as the comedic pimp Baby Powder in the film “How High,” which also starred Method Man and Redman.

In the film “All About the Benjamins” from 2002, he plays the role of a career criminal who forms an alliance with Ice Cube’s bounty hunter character in order to pursue a gang of diamond thieves who are in possession of a winning lottery ticket. In the comedy film “The Honeymooners,” which was released in 2005, he portrayed the role of Ed Norton. The film is about a working-class New York bus driver named Ralph Kramden who is constantly plotting methods to become wealthy quickly.

Epps had a role in the biopic “Talk to Me,” which was released in 2007, and told the story of a former criminal named Ralph “Petey” Greene, who went on to become a well-known talk show host and community organiser. In the comedy picture “The Hangover,” released in 2009, he has the role of Black Doug, an easygoing and cheerful drug dealer. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, and Jeffrey Tambor are among the actors who are featured in the cast.

After Martin Lawrence stepped down from the job, he was cast as the bear character (Boog) in the film “Open Season 2,” and two years later, he presented the BET Hip Hop Awards. In the remade version of the musical film “Sparkle” from 2012, he plays the role of Satin, who is a stand-up comedian by day and a nasty and abusive drug kingpin by night. He shares this role with Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks.

Epps made an appearance in the comic horror film “Meet the Blacks,” which was released in 2016, as well as its sequel, “The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2,” which was released in 2021. In addition, he portrayed the lead role in the one-season comedy series “Uncle Buck,” which aired in 2016, and he has been a prominent cast member on the Netflix comedy series “The Upshaws,” which debuted in 2021.

Epps worked with Poo Bear on the song titled “Trying to Be a Gangsta,” and he also hosted the mixtape titled “Elephant In The Sand” released by G Unit in 2008, in which he appeared on the track titled “Hollow Through Him.” In addition, he has a song titled “Giant Girls,” which was first made public in the year 2008. They were the first people to record it, and their names are Bow Wow and Yung Joc.

The song can be downloaded from iTunes right now, and it was included in his album “Funny Bidness: Da Album,” which came out on October 27, 2009. Epps also made a guest appearance on the mixtape titled “Mac Wit Da Cheese” by the rapper French Montana, which was issued on April 19, 2009. Epps also made an appearance on the song “Intro/Hard Work” that was featured on Dom Kennedy’s mixtape titled FutureStreet/DrugSounds.

His stand-up comedy from “Under Rated & Never Faded” was sampled by Bad Meets Evil for the title track of their debut extended play, “Hell: The Sequel,” as well as by J. Cole for the song “I’m On Everything” from his second studio album, “Born Sinner.” Epps has made a number of appearances in music videos, the majority of which have been for hip-hop artists.
