It is Kieron. Adrian Pollard, who was born in Trinidad on May 12th, 1987, is a former cricketer who led the West Indies cricket team in limited-overs cricket. Pollard is from the country of Trinidad. As an all-rounder, he participates in several different Twenty20 competitions throughout the world right now. Additionally, he leads MI Emirates and MI New York in the South African Twenty20 and the Major League Cricket, respectively. He was a member of the West Indies side that triumphed in the ICC World T20 in 2012.
Pollard was given the role of captain of the West Indies One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) teams in September 2019. In March of 2020, he established a new record by being the first cricket player to participate in 500 Twenty20 matches. His batting style is most suited for the limited-overs versions of the game, which is where he has had the most success over his lengthy international career. He has never participated in a test match.
During a match against Sri Lanka in March 2021, he became the third batter in the history of international cricket to knock six sixes in a single over delivered by Akila Dananjaya. The previous two batsmen to accomplish this feat were Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh. Pollard became the first cricketer to play for the West Indies in one hundred Twenty20 International matches in February 2022, when he did so in the second match of a series against India.
On the 20th of April 2022, Pollard decided to end his career in international cricket. After playing for Mumbai Indians for 13 seasons, Pollard announced that he would be retiring from the IPL on November 15, 2022. After that, he was given the position of batting coach for the Mumbai Indians. During the 2006 English season, he traveled to England to play for Haxey CC in Lincolnshire. He was only able to participate in five matches for the club before Trinidad & Tobago summoned him back up to compete in the Stanford Twenty20 tournament.
In July of 2006, Pollard made his debut for Trinidad & Tobago’s senior team in a Twenty20 game against the Cayman Islands. He concluded the tournament with a decent return of six wickets, and he was the standout performer in the semi-final match against Nevis, striking 83 runs off of only 38 balls in an innings that featured seven sixes to book Trinidad and Tobago’s spot in the final. This allowed Trinidad and Tobago to advance to the final.
Six months later, he made his first-class debut against Barbados, and he celebrated the occasion by scoring a century in the match. The majority of his runs in this inning came from hitting boundaries, with 86 of his 126 total coming from either fours or sixes. This was similar to his performance in the Twenty20. On his List, he has a score of 46, and he is not out. Pollard was able to cement his place in the thoughts of the selectors for the 2017 World Cup by making his debut, and he referred to being named for the tournament’s tentative 30-man team as “a dream come true.”
The so-called “dream run” of Pollard continued with half-centuries against Guyana in both the four-day and the 50-over matches. This was followed by his second first-class century, which he scored against the Leeward Islands. Pollard displayed his bowling skills against Jamaica, capturing four wickets in his seven overs to earn the man of the match title. This was Pollard’s fifth man of the match award in his 15th senior encounter.
In the KFC Cup competition that took place in 2006–2007, Trinidad and Tobago finished the tournament with a perfect record after claiming victory against Windward Islands in the championship match. Pollard ended as the player with the most runs scored in the tournament. He scored 261 runs throughout his seven innings, which gave him an average of over 40. Pollard’s bowling showed significant development during the 2008–2009 West Indies Cricket Board Cup, as he finished the campaign with nine wickets to his name and a bowling average of 14.22.
Pollard was named the man of the match for his all-around effort against Jamaica in the semi-finals, in which he took three wickets and scored 76 runs for Trinidad and Tobago. This performance won them a spot in the championship match. Pollard was included in the preliminary 30-man team for the 2007 ICC World Twenty20; however, he was not selected to play in the event.
Tony Cozier referred to it as “baffling” that Pollard and Lendl Simmons were not selected for the West Indies performance team in 2007–08, saying that the duo “had been seemingly identified as among those for the future but have quickly been shunted aside.”Pollard’s performance during Trinidad and Tobago’s victory in the 2007–2008 Stanford Twenty20 was poor, as he averaged nine runs throughout his three innings.
Pollard had a productive performance for Somerset in the 2010 Friends Provident t20, which helped the team advance to the championship match, which took place on August 14, 2010. During the tournament, he amassed 354 runs at an average of 32.18, which was the second-best batting average for Somerset. His performance included two half-centuries and a strike rate of 175.24 runs per 100 balls. In addition, he finished second among all Somerset bowlers with 29 wickets taken while averaging 15.10 runs per over.
