After she had signed her letter of intent, she disclosed that when she was in seventh grade, she had set a goal for herself to one day play for the Connecticut Huskies
The New York Liberty selected Nurse as the tenth overall choice in the first round of the 2018 WNBA draft. The nurse was selected by Liberty. The Liberty would gain Nurse, who would play alongside players like Tina Charles and Epiphanny Prince, among others. In 2015 and 2016, Nurse led the University of Connecticut Huskies to their respective NCAA championships, both of which they won.
