Robbert van de Corput is a DJ, record producer, and remixer specializing in electro-house music who hails from Breda in the Netherlands. The “I Am Hardwell Tour,” the accompanying films, and his first studio album, “United We Are,” are mostly responsible for his widespread notoriety. Hardwell is the alias that van de Corput adopts while playing as a DJ under the moniker Hardwell. Since he was just 16 years old, he already had the dream of being the most talented DJ in the whole world.
When he was 25 years old, he reached this objective, proving to himself that “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it” is a true guiding principle in life. For the years 2013 and 2014, he was given the title of World’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Mag’s ‘Top 100 DJ’ poll. Despite the fact that he dropped one position in the poll’s rankings during each of the years that followed, he continued to be counted among the best DJs in the world. In addition to this, the readers of DJ Mag voted him the best DJ in the world in both 2013 and 2014, and he was awarded the top spot in both years.
He has collaborated with artists from all over the world, such as his musical inspiration and guide Tisto, as well as his colleagues and closest friends Dyro and Dannic, with whom he has toured Canada and other parts of North America. He has worked together with a great number of artists from different countries. Because of his bootleg version of the song “Show Me, Love vs. Be,” he gained notoriety all around the globe.
It was he who established the record label that is now known as “Revealed Recordings.” This label has been instrumental in launching the careers of a vast number of up-and-coming electronic dance music musicians all around the globe. The compilation album titled “Hardwell presents Exposed” has been released by him a total of eight volumes.
His parents, Anneke and Cor van de Corput, gave birth to him on January 7, 1988, in the city of Breda, which is located in the Netherlands. Robbert van de Corput, better known by his stage name Hardwell, is his son. He began his musical education by enrolling in a music school and receiving piano lessons when he was only four years old. Since then, he has been pursuing his education in music.
When he was just twelve years old, he began his career as a hip-hop DJ. At the same time, he also began recording his first electro tunes. He rose to fame as a result of his participation in a number of different local DJ competitions and drew significant inspiration from the Breda-born DJ and producer Tiesto. Tisto is a native of Breda as well.
Hardwell altered his approach to that of commercial electronic dance music, and at the age of 14, he acquired a record deal with the Dutch production company Klubbheads for their single “Digidance.” This occurred as the hip-hop movement became more underground. Three weeks later, he released his first official studio album, which consisted of two discs and was titled “Bubbling Beats 1.”
Following that, he embarked on a tour throughout the Netherlands, during which he gave performances at a number of different dance locations. It wasn’t until 2006 that he released his first official song, which he named “Play It Around.” The song was also highly popular in the club scene in Germany, where he was performing it. With this track, he combined his characteristic style with a number of today’s most popular musical genres in order to create a unique hybrid sound.
He collaborated with Great ski on the song “Never Known Love,” which was released at the tail end of 2007. The song became his first Top 40 triumph in Germany, where it reached its highest place on the official single charts at position No. 32. Both ‘You Do not Love Me’ by Sidney Samson and Skitzofrenix and ‘Toys Are’ by Gregor Salto and Chuckie, which he remixed jointly with a Dutch DJ and producer named R3hab, topped the dance charts for a considerable amount of time.
He is the one responsible for the production of a mash-up of the songs “Be” by Steve Angello and Laidback Luke and “Show Me Love” by Robin S., which was published in December 2008 as an official cover version of the song “Show Me, Love.”With his appearance beside Tisto on stage, he gained more notoriety in the Netherlands. After that, he produced the official song of the “Dancevalley Festival,” which was presented during the event and given the name “Twilight Zone.”
In 2010, he launched his own record label and gave it the name “Revealed Records.” The purpose of the business was to provide upcoming electronic dance music artists with a platform from which to distribute their work. As a consequence of this, he has been releasing an album of compilations each year, on which he includes the new recordings and songs that have been published by the company. In addition, as part of the festivities commemorating the fifth year in business for the firm, he has made available on his website one hundred of the songs that have received the greatest votes from his audience.
In 2011, he decided to publish his tracks via a German record label known as “Kontor Records,” and he signed a deal with that label to do so. His podcast is called “Hardwell On Air,” and he debuted it in March of that year. It has a running time of one hour and is broadcast on “Slam!” in the Netherlands and “Sirius XM” in the United States.
In 2011, he worked together with Tisto to produce the song “Zero 76.” The name of the song comes from the area code (“076”) that is used by the people who live in their hometown of Breda. The song “Cobra” was selected to serve as the official theme song for the “Energy, The Network” festival, which is recognized as one of the most significant indoor events held in Europe. The song reached number one on dance charts all around the globe and was chosen to serve as the official theme song for the festival.
