Frank Anthony Iero, Jr. is an American musician who is the rhythm guitarist and backing singer for the rock band My Chemical Romance. He is also a guitarist in the supergroup L.S. Dunes. Frank Anthony Iero, Jr. was born on October 31, 1981, in the United States. In addition to that, he was the primary singer for the post-hardcore band Leathermouth. It was earlier known as “Frnkiero and the Celebration” and “Frank Iero and the Patience,” and he is now working on a solo project under the name “Frank Iero and the Future Violents.” Stomachaches was the title of his first album as a solo artist, which was released on August 26, 2014.
At the age of 11, Frank began participating in the New Jersey punk movement by performing in local bands. Prior to his being the frontman for My Chemical Romance, he was the vocalist for the punk band Pencey Prep. Before disbanding, the band issued one more album, titled Heartbreak in Stereo, on the indie label Eyeball Records. While he was performing with Pencey Prep, he met Gerard Way and the other members of My Chemical Romance, made friends with them, became a fan of their first demo, and assisted them in getting their first concerts.
After the dissolution of his previous band, Frank went on to perform in a number of bands, including I Am A Graveyard, Hybrid, and Sector 12, until My Chemical Romance offered him the position of rhythm guitarist in their band. Iero became a member of My Chemical Romance in 2002, and he was featured on two songs that were included on the band’s first album, which was titled I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Iero contributed his musical talents to the band’s second studio album, titled Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and released on June 8, 2004.
On October 24, 2006, My Chemical Romance released their third studio album under their own name, titled The Black Parade. Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, the fourth and last studio album produced by My Chemical Romance, was made available for purchase on November 22, 2010. On March 22, 2013, the band shared the news that they will be disbanding. Leathermouth, a five-piece hardcore punk band, made their debut with the album XO on Epitaph Records in January 2009. Iero served as the band’s frontman. The band disbanded later in the year 2010. In addition to playing bass with Reggie and the Full Effect on their last tour, he is a member of The Love Cats, a band that pays homage to The Cure and takes its name from a song by the same name. This Song Is A Curse, his first solo effort, was included as a special extra track on the album that served as the official soundtrack to the Tim Burton picture Frankenweenie. After that, he covered the song “Be My Baby,” which was originally made popular by The Ronettes. He shared the anti-Christmas recording he produced as a joke in 15 minutes, and then he followed it up with the version of the song.
Iero announced his departure from the record label Skeleton Crew, which he and his wife had co-founded, on December 7, 2010, in order to focus on his family and his music with My Chemical Romance. He stated that although he would have loved to continue, he was unable to juggle his career with the band, the new additions to his family, and co-running a business. In order to provide support to independent musicians, he served as a judge at the seventh annual Independent Music Awards.
Early in 2013, Iero and James Dewees made the announcement that they were working on a new project together to be named Death Spells. This project was a digital hardcore act. In addition to that, they disclosed that they would be performing at the Skate and Surf Festival in New Jersey, as well as a tour in support of Mindless Self Indulgence. Death Spells began posting a brief sample of a new song each night at midnight beginning a week before the Mindless Self Indulgence tour. This culminated in the release of their first complete single titled “Where Are My Fucking Pills?” along with a music video to accompany the song. However, the publication of a full-length album was postponed until 2016, when the band’s album Nothing Above, Nothing Below was made available on July 29 of that year. It had been anticipated that the album would be published in late 2013.
During the first period of silence for Death Spells in 2013, Iero played new solo songs live and released others to his Soundcloud. He subsequently gave the impression that he had written songs for a whole album, with further material being developed on an ongoing basis. It has been established that this is for a solo album. On November 28, 2013, he made the announcement on both his own website and his Twitter account that on December 10, a two-track release named “For Jamia…” will be published both digitally and on limited vinyl. The announcement was made through his official website. Frank started creating songs in his home studio shortly after the dissolution of his last band. In the remaining months of 2013, he began performing a few of his songs live at various events, published a demo version of his song “Joyriding,” and recorded a full-length album.
On the album, Frank performs everything himself, with the exception of the drums, which were played by Jarrod Alexander, formerly of My Chemical Romance. In addition to that, he put together a touring band that included Evan Nestor, Rob Hughes, and Matt Olsson. Under the stage name Frnkiero and the celebration, he made the announcement in June 2014 that he had signed with Staples Records and that his first album, titled Stomachaches, would be released on August 25. This was followed up with a debut song titled “Weighted” and tour dates.
The music video for this song was first made available by him on August 4th, 2014. The song “Joyriding” has received a second single release along with an accompanying music video. During their first tour outside of the United States, the band supported Mallory Knox in the United Kingdom in November 2014. The band will be performing at the Reading and Leeds festivals in addition to their already announced headlining concerts for 2015 in Mexico, the United States, and Europe. The band also supported Against Me in the United States during the summer leg of their tour and closed off the year headlining their own tour.
