Yousef Saleh Erakat, popularly known as FouseyTube or just Fousey, is an American YouTuber that creates parodies, vlogs, comedy sketches, and interview videos among other types of content. Erakat was born on January 22, 1990. Additionally, he operates two additional channels known as Fousey and DoseOfFousey.
Yousef Erakat is the son of Palestinian parents who emigrated to the United States and settled in Fremont, California. He is the youngest of four older siblings, including Noura Erakat, a legal scholar who is one of his older sisters. Erakat received his education at San Jose State University, where he focused his studies on the performing arts. After graduating in 2013, he uprooted his life and came to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career in acting.
In the past, Erakat has maintained many channels on YouTube, most of them dedicated to the fitness industry. It wasn’t until he started filming videos set in the Middle East that he began to see an increase in popularity. Erakat has a history of mental health issues, including anxiety, addiction, depression, and bipolar illness. Pranks and Show of the Year were both categories in which he was up for consideration at the 5th Annual Streamy Awards, which he ultimately won in September 2015.
