Rapper, singer, and composer Daniel Nwosu Jr., better known by his stage name Dax, was born in Canada on March 22, 1994. He is professionally known by his stage name Dax. The 22nd of March, 1994 saw Daniel Nwosu Jr. making his entrance into the world in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Nwosu spent his childhood in Ottawa, following which he relocated to Wichita, Kansas, to attend university. Following graduation, he spent some time in Detroit before relocating to Los Angeles, California. After that, Nwosu enrolled at Newman University, where he was a member of the Newman Jets basketball team and played the guard position.
Before he decided to pursue a career in rap, he had already established himself as a poet and a motivational speaker. While he was a student at Newman University, he had a job as a janitor, which he said was a job he enjoyed since it allowed him to spend his off time working on his rap career. During his time at Newman University, he worked as a janitor.
In 2016, when Dax was riding on the bus with his basketball team, he came up with the idea to compose a poem. Dax came to the conclusion that he had a talent for stringing words together after the poetry he wrote wowed another one of his colleagues. Through his SoundCloud account, he started putting out music and doing considerable promotion of it. His first release was the mixtape 2pac Reincarnation Vol 2: As Recounted by Dax in the Year 2017 The official music video of his song “Cash Me Outside” starring Danielle Bregoli is largely responsible for his meteoric rise to popularity.
The title of his first extended play was “It’s Different Now,” and it was published in August 2018. Other rappers, such as OT Genasis and Futuristic, made cameos on the record as special guests. In the following year, he was featured on the track “You Should’ve Known” by Hopsin. In June 2019, he participated in the “It goes up” tour with Tech N9ne. Subsequently, he announced his first solo headlining tour through Instagram and called it the “It’s Different Now Tour.” The tour is set to take place in October and will travel across North America and Canada.
The seven-track EP “I’ll Say It for You” was preceded by the controversial song “Dear God,” in which Dax poses questions for God as he considers the existence of both himself and the universe at large. The EP was published in the year 2020 and garnered generally excellent reviews. Other rappers, such as Stevence and Tedical, reworked it into a new version. The music video for the song has more than 50 million views on YouTube, while the song itself has been listened to more than 50 million times on Spotify.
The song received positive reviews from music reviewers due to the subject matter and lyrics of the song. Later on in the same year, he came out with two additional songs. “Faster” and “I don’t want another sorry” featured Tech N9ne and Trippie Redd, respectively. In April 2020, he distributed the song “Coronavirus,” which was based on the COVID-19 pandemic and was composed by him.
In July 2021, Dax issued a follow-up to his song “Dear God” titled “Child of God,” in which he expressed gratitude to God for everything that he had done for him and thanked God for all he had done for him. In August of 2021, Dax made the announcement that “Propaganda” will serve as the first single for his debut studio album. The song also featured Tom Macdonald. The song reached its highest position on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list at number 15, while it reached its highest position on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart at number 9 respectively. Early in the month of October 2021, the third single from the album titled “40 Days, 40 Nights” starring Nasty C was made available. His first studio album, Pain Paints Paintings, was made available digitally by Living Legends Entertainment on October 15, 2021.
On March 11, 2022, he released a new single under the title “Dear Alcohol,” which was composed about alcoholism. The song was about alcoholism. It made its debut at number 9 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 list and at number 28 on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart. Ultimately, it was certified gold by the RIAA and Music Canada. Dax has pondered on his abusive connection with booze in the song, stating that there were moments in his life when he “got wasted” because he didn’t want to be alone with himself. While promoting the music on YouTube, he stated, “This one is very personal to me.”
On June 10, 2022, he released a country music crossover remix for the song that included vocals from country artist Elle King. The song was a collaboration between the two genres of music. KSI made an appearance on the What’s Good? Podcast on November 18, 2018, and during his interview, he criticized a number of online rappers. KSI said in the interview that both Quadeca and Dax were less skilled than he was when it came to rapping. After that, on November 23, 2018, Quadeca released a whole diss track against him, which was titled “Insecure.” Shortly after that, Dax also gave his take on the situation by releasing his own diss track, which was a remix of “Killshot,” Eminem’s diss track directed at Machine Gun Kelly. Then, in response to the tune that Dax and Quadeca had released, KSI released a reply video, which was also accompanied by a diss track called “Ares.”
He sent a challenge to Dax for a one-on-one boxing contest, and although Dax accepted the offer, he continued to postpone the fight. After that, he made a cameo appearance on Deji’s diss track “Unforgivable,” which was directed at KSI. Dax has not yet boxed KSI as of the year 2023. Tory Lanez tweeted on January 24, 2019, claiming he is the “best rapper alive” and called himself the “best rapper ever.”
In response, Dax published a video on YouTube in which he performed a diss track directed at him with the title “I’m Not Joyner Or Don Q.” As a reaction, Lanez has published a video on Instagram in which he encourages Dax to publicly repent for the diss tune. In interviews with DJ Akademiks, Impulsive, and No Jumper, Dax discussed the incident and said that apologizing was the appropriate action to do since he did not want a fight to break out. Dax also stated that he did not want a fight to break out.
