Cupcakke is the stage name of American rapper Elizabeth Eden Harris, who was born on May 31, 1997. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois. Despite the fact that her character and music are known for being hypersexualized, bold, and frequently comedic, she has also recorded songs with themes promoting homosexual rights, female empowerment, and autism awareness. Elizabeth Eden Harris was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 31, 1997, and she was reared on King Drive, which is located close to Parkway Gardens. Harris was raised by a single mother and began his early years in life living in homeless shelters in the Chicago area when he was just seven years old.
She lived in Chicago all throughout her childhood and attended the same schools as well-known local rappers like Lil Reese and Chief Keef. Because she was active in the church in which she grew up, she began writing poetry and playing the piano when she was just ten years old. In addition, it was there that she began her career as a performer. When she first started out, she would recite poetry to the local pastors that were centered on her Christian beliefs and faith.
In August of 2012, Harris uploaded her very first music video, titled “Gold Digger,” to the official account she maintains on YouTube. She had just turned 15 when it was published; the original video has since been taken down from the internet. Over the course of the next few years, she continued to produce original music as well as freestyles using beats from other artists through her YouTube channel, where she has gathered a following of over 812,000 subscribers. The song “Cumshot” was released by Harris in February of 2017, and it was the first single taken from her upcoming second studio album. The English singer-songwriter Charli XCX made the world premiere of her song “Lipgloss” on March 7. Harris is featured on the track. Thereafter, CXX featured the song in her mixtape titled “Number 1 Angel,” which was published on March 10 of this year.
Because of an unauthorized background track that Harris had purchased from a “shady producer,” Queen Elizabeth was pulled from internet streaming services and digital music shops on April 7, 2017. The reason for this was owing to the fact that Harris had purchased the track. Soon after, she made the announcement on Twitter that a new edition of Queen Elizabeth would be available on April 16. In November of 2017, she followed that up by releasing the singles “Exit” and “Cartoons.”
Ephorize, which is her third album recorded in a studio, was released on January 5, 2018. The publication Exclaim! referred to it as “her most polished effort to date” and made the observation that “she still slides in plenty of wonderfully nasty one-liners throughout the new record.” “Ephorize might be one of the most introspective collections of work she’s dropped off to date,” said HotNewHipHop in a recent article. Pitchfork referred to it as Cupcakke’s “best album yet,” praising the band’s “terrific production” along with the “barrage of raps that expose Elizabeth Harris to be far more than her hilarious and insanely bawdy one-liners.” Both “Duck Duck Goose” and “Fullest” have been accompanied by music videos that she has released. Her “showing off an extensive collection of dildos as well as a souvenir Statue of Liberty” is seen in the first photo.
The official music video for her song “Vagina” was uploaded to YouTube by YMCFilmz in October 2015, and it was available to watch there. Cupcakke claims that the reason she wrote the song was that the song “My Neck, My Back ” by Khia served as an inspiration for her. After waiting another month, Harris finally published “Deepthroat” on her own channel. The two videos quickly gained millions of views on YouTube, Worldstar, and Facebook within a few short weeks. Later on, Harris turned the tracks into singles to promote his first mixtape, titled Cum Cake, which was released in February of 2016.
In addition, additional songs such as “Juicy Coochie,” “Tit for Tat,” and “Pedophile” were released in support of the album’s release. A writer for Pitchfork, who included it on their list of “9 Rap Mixtapes You Might Have Missed This Year,” described the mixtape as a “well-rounded introduction to a skilled writer” and said that it used songs “about love, loss, and hardship with its more explicit tracks to create a full profile of the up-and-coming Chicago rapper.” Pitchfork included the mixtape on their list. In addition to that, “Pedophile” received a lot of attention for the “blunt criticism” it offered on sexual assault.
S.T.D. was Harris’s second mixtape, and it was released in June of 2016. A single titled “Best Dick Sucker” was released before it. Other tunes, including “Doggy Style” and “Motherlands,” were also subsequently made available as singles at a later time. Rolling Stone ranked the mixtape as one of the “Best Rap Albums of 2016 So Far” in their publication.
Audacious was Harris’s first studio album, and it was published by her in October 2016. Prior to the release of the album, the single “Picking Cotton” was released. MTV News referred to the track as “a protest song about racist officers” in their review of the single. Other songs on the album, like “Spider-Man Dick” and “LGBT,” each came with their own music video. In an interview, Harris explained that the motivation behind the creation of the song “LGBT” was “…strictly for the gay community to know that they are loved and don’t need to feel judged.”She was introduced to a fellow churchgoer when she was 13 years old. This person pushed her to adapt poetry to rap music, and after doing so, she fell in love with the art form. Her early musical approach was heavily influenced by artists such as 50 Cent, Lil’ Kim, and Da Brat, as she has stated.
Late in 2012, Cupcakke launched her career as a rapper by uploading her early work to several web platforms. In 2015, the songs “Deepthroat” and “Vagina” by her were extremely popular on video-sharing websites all over the world. Later, the tracks were put in her debut mixtape, which was titled Cum Cake. The mixtape was ranked number 23 on Rolling Stone’s list of the Best Rap Albums of 2016, and it was released in 2016. S.T.D was the second mixtape that was released by Audacious. It came out in 2016, and it was released before the studio albums Audacious, Queen Elizabeth, Ephorize, and Eden. Since then, she has made a consistent effort to release standalone songs, such as “Grilling Niggas,” “Lawd Jesus,” and “Discounts.”
