Craig Joseph Charles is a well-known English actor, comedian, disc jockey, and presenter on television and radio. He was born on July 11, 1964. Both his part as Dave Lister in the science fiction sitcom Red Dwarf and his role as Lloyd Mullaney in the British serial opera Coronation Street (2005-2015) brought him the most fame. This was his very first assignment on a professional level. A further Peel Session was recorded by him in the year 1984.
Charles came to the conclusion that he was expressing his sense of humor through poetry and transitioned into stand-up comedy as a result. In 1986, he participated in the Red Wedge comedy tour, which was organized in support of the Labour Party and attempted to increase awareness of the social problems that were prevalent at the time. In 1986, he also gave the first performance of his one-man show, which had its world debut in Edinburgh and went on to tour internationally. Charles appeared as a guest on programs such as those hosted by Janice Long on Radio 1, and he was a regular panelist on Ned Sherrin’s talk show Loose Ends (1987–1988) broadcast on BBC Radio 4 during that time period.

On the late-night show Saturday Live (1985–87) and on the prime-time BBC1 chat show Wogan (1986–87), where he read a topical poem in a weekly feature, Charles recited his political poems as a stand-up comedy based on current events.
These appearances took place between the years 1985 and 1987. In addition, he was a guest on several shows, one of which was Open Air (1988). Because Charles’ performance style incorporated a good deal of acting, he was able to convey the feeling he was trying to convey. In September 2015, Charles performed his “epic” poem Scary Fairy and the Tales of the Dark Wood live with the BBC Philharmonic orchestra in a concert that was scheduled to be broadcast on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night during Halloween.
The character of Liverpudlian slob Dave Lister, which Charles played for the first time on television, was featured in the science fiction comedy series Red Dwarf. Paul Jackson, the producer of both Saturday Live and Red Dwarf, was the one who brought him on board with the show because he was interested in hearing his thoughts on whether or not the black character Cat represented a racial stereotype.
