Barbara Mandrell is an American country music singer and actress who rose to prominence throughout the 1970s and 1980s as one of the most popular country performers of the era. Through those two illustrious decades, she amassed an impressive collection of top-ten singles and received several prizes, including the Country Music Association’s prestigious ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award twice as well as its award for a best female vocalist on two separate occasions. Barbara, along with her two children, Matthew and Jaime, were engaged in a horrible vehicle accident at the peak of their professional careers.
