Antony Starr is a well-known New Zealand actor born on October 25th, 1975. The majority of his career was spent working on television. In the television series Outrageous Fortune (2005–2010), he played the twin roles of Jethro and Van West. In the television series Banshee (2013–16), he played the character of Lucas Hood. In the television series The Boys and its spin-offs (2019–present), he plays the role of Homelander.
Starr was honored with several awards, including the AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, in recognition of his performance in the Australian film Wish You Were Here (2012) after The Waterfall (2010) earned him a nomination for the New Zealand Film Award in the category of Best Actor, which he ultimately did not win.

After serving 15 years in jail, he adopts the identity of Lucas Hood and is elected as the new Sheriff of Banshee. He portrayed the role of an anonymous former criminal. When he and his ex-lover, Anastasia, make an effort to rekindle their relationship, they both discover that he “has become a distant (violent) version of the man he once was.” April 2016 marked the beginning of the show’s fourth and final season. In addition, Starr plays the lead role of Garrett Hawthorne in the crime-and-mystery series American Gothic, which aired on CBS in 2016.
In January of 2018, it was revealed that Starr will be playing the role of The Homelander in The Boys, an adaptation of the comic book of the same name written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and produced by Amazon Studios. The first season was made available to the public in July 2019, and the second season will be open in September 2020. The third season was made available to the public in June of 2022.
