Amy Schumer was born on June 1, 1981, to parents Gordon David Schumer and Sandra Jane in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Her father is a first cousin once removed by US Senator Chuck Schumer and hails from a Jewish family in Ukraine. Amy’s upbringing mirrored that of a typical Orthodox Jewish family.
