Jos Buttler Bio

Jos Buttler is the professional nickname of English cricketer Joseph Charles Buttler, often known as “Jos Buttler.” He bats right-handed and keeps wickets, and his aggressive approach to the game is one of the reasons he is so well known. Buttler is known for being an inventive batsman who achieves his runs at a high strike rate. As a result, he has been called upon to play vital innings several times.

Since 2014, he has not only participated in the Twenty20 Internationals and One-Day Internationals, but he has also been an essential member of England’s Test team. In other words, he has played all three forms of the game. Because of his impressive track record in the Twenty20 format, he is one of the players in franchise Twenty20 cricket that is in most demand all over the globe.

Buttler made his first appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2016 with the team known as the “Mumbai Indians.” In 2018, the “Rajasthan Royals” won the bidding to acquire Buttler at the “IPL” auction. Buttler was given the role of England’s vice-captain for the next “Cricket World Cup” in April of this year. When he is not on the cricket pitch, you can find him training hard or playing golf to keep in shape.

Jos Butler was born on September 8th, 1990 in the town of Taunton, England, to parents John Butler and Patricia Butler, who worked as a physical education instructor. A younger brother by the name of Jimmie Gosser and an older sister by the name of Joanne Vickers is part of his family. In Blackford, he received his education at the Hugh Sexey Church of England Middle School.

After working hard and earning a scholarship, he was able to attend the famous “King’s College” in Taunton, where he was able to further enhance his cricketing talents. After making his senior club cricket debut for ‘Cheddar Cricket Club,’ he joined ‘Glastonbury Cricket Club’ (an amateur cricket club) in the 2006 season.

During the 2006 season, he played for the team known as “Glastonbury,” and he scored 15 runs and made three catches behind the wickets. Later on in the 2006 season, he played for ‘Somerset Second XI’ against ‘Nottinghamshire Second XI’ and scored 71 runs in the second innings while also taking six catches in a match that lasted three days.

He concluded the 2006 season playing for ‘King’s College’ and had a total of 447 runs with an average of 49.66 runs per game. During the 2007 season, he established himself as a consistent performer for ‘Glastonbury’ in the ‘West of England Premier League’ (WEPL), as well as for Somerset Under-17s. He scored 119 runs when playing for Somerset Under-17s against Surrey Under-17s during a two-day match, and he scored 110 runs while playing against Sussex Under-17s.

When he was playing for ‘King’s College’ in April of 2008, he formed a partnership with Alex Barrow that resulted in 340 runs, which was his career-high score of 227 not out. In the meanwhile, he demonstrated his ability to keep wickets by making six catches when playing for “Somerset Second XI” against “Worcestershire Second XI.”

In July 2008, he competed for the England Under-17 squad in two warm-up matches against the New Zealand Under-19 team. During a one-day encounter, he hit 77 runs off of 49 balls, which contributed to New Zealand’s victory. In a later encounter, which lasted for two days, he scored 45 runs, and the game finished in a tie.

In 2009, he competed for England’s Under-18 team and made 103 runs without being out in the first game of the tournament. After that, he participated in the ‘Under-19 World Cup’ and ended with a batting average of 30.33 throughout the five games he played. In 2009, he made his first-class debut when he played for Somerset in a match referred to as the “County Championship.” He was brought in to replace Justin Langer, who was unable to play due to an injury.

Unfortunately, he only scored 30 runs in the first innings he played, which was his lone at-bat. He led his side to victory in the ‘Western School T20 tournament in 2009 while serving as the captain of ‘King’s College,’ which they played for. Only one of the 17 games that his team played while he was captain resulted in a loss. As a result of his outstanding batting average of 61.55 and the 554 runs he scored in 2010, he was given the title of “Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year.”

He made his debut in a Twenty20 international match between England and India on August 31, 2011, although he did not bat in the contest. After making his first-ever appearance, he went on to compete in Twenty20 matches against the West Indies team that was visiting in September 2011. He was a member of the ‘Melbourne Renegades team that competed in the 2013–2014 season of the ‘Big Bash League’ in Australia. This was his first experience with a professional cricket franchise.
