Gary Michael Cole is a well-known American actor who was born on September 20th, 1956. In 1985, he made his stage debut with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, which was the beginning of his professional acting career. His breakthrough performance came in the NBC series Midnight Caller (1988–1991) as the character Jack ‘Nighthawk’ Killian.

Other notable roles he has played on television include Sheriff Lucas Buck in American Gothic (1995–1996), Vice President Bob Russell in The West Wing (2003–2006), Kurt McVeigh in both The Good Wife (2010–2016) and The Good Fight (2017–2022), Kent Davison in Veep (2013–2019), and Special Agent Alden Parker in NCIS (2021–present). American Gothic aired from 1995–1996. The West Wing aired from 2003–2006.

Harvey Birdman in the animated series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law (2000–2007, 2018), Principal Shepherd in the animated series Family Guy (2000–present), Dr. James Possible in the animated series Kim Possible (2002–2007), Mayor Fred Jones, Sr. in the animated series Scooby-Doo! In the television show Wanted on TNT, Cole played the role of Lieutenant Conrad Rose. He is also the voice of the lead character in the Adult Swim series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. In the television show American Gothic from 1995, Cole played the role of Sheriff Lucas Buck. American Gothic only lasted for one season. Cole made his first appearance on Chuck as Sarah’s con artist father in the episode titled “Chuck Versus the DeLorean” in the year 2008; he then returned to the show in the episode titled “Chuck Versus the Wedding Planner” in the year 2011. Before becoming a regular member of the cast in the sixth season of the HBO series Entourage, he had a guest appearance in the fifth season as Ari Gold’s longtime friend Andrew Klein in a plot arc that spanned three episodes.
