Yuriy Sardarov Bio

Yuri Sardarov, sometimes known as Yuriy Sardarov, is a Russian-born American actor and producer who was born on January 28, 1988. He has a significant amount of experience working in the theater. He was a main cast member on NBC’s Chicago Fire up until the eighth season. When he was just two years old, he came to the United States with his Georgian and Armenian parents, where the family settled largely in the cities of St. Louis and Chicago.

Sardarov won his first major role in the Chicago stage adaptation of The History Boys while he was a student at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, which specializes in acting. This led to his making his debut as an actor in the feature film The Double, which starred Richard Gere and was directed by Michael Brandt and written by Brandt and Derek Haas, who are the creators and executive producers of the television show Chicago Fire.

Soon after that, Sardarov had roles in films such as “The Ides of March” and “Argo,” the latter of which won an Academy Award. Cooking and basketball are two of his favorite things to do, and he splits his time between Chicago and Los Angeles. Derek Haas, the co-showrunner of Chicago Fire, recently gave an interview to TV Line in which he discussed his reasoning for the choice to kill off Otis and have Sardarov depart the show.

In the end, the decision was made because the showrunners wanted to emphasize to viewers that the cases that Firehouse 51 works on every day have genuine consequences and that these consequences can sometimes result in the deaths of characters. In order to make this point clear, they decided to eliminate an iconic figure from the show such as Otis rather than a more recent character such as Ritter (Daniel Kyri), who had just arrived on the scene in Season 8.

“When we decided that Otis was going to be the one [who dies], there was some talk about, ‘Do we make it Ritter?'” Haas stated. “However, I got the impression that that wasn’t really that important. Because he was such a new character, the viewers would think, “Oh, we were just doing that intentionally from the beginning.” This is because the circumstance or result almost wouldn’t be the same, as it wouldn’t have had the same stakes as it would have had if it were a core cast member.

And so we just decided that it would be Otis because he lives with Cruz (Joe Minoso) and Brett (Kara Killmer), and he’s on Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) truck, and he’s in Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) house, and he’s the best of friends with Mouch (Christian Stolte), and he owns a bar with Herrmann (David Eigenberg), and so on and so forth There are a million feelings that everybody has from a guy who has been on the program from nearly the very first scene.”
Haas told TV Line Sardarov had no trouble comprehending the choice that was made.

“From a personal standpoint, it’s really difficult to tell an actor, ‘Hey, this is what we’re thinking,’ when you not only know them as a really great actor but also as just a good person and friend,” he added. “It’s really difficult as a showrunner to tell an actor, ‘Hey, this is what we’re thinking.'” “But I called Yuri and told him what we were going to do, and I’ve never had a call as professional and as gracious,” she said. “I think, in the back of my head, that I know why, which is that he’s a writer himself, and he understands that you, as a writer, have to surprise the audience and give them something that they weren’t expecting.”

Yuri Sardarov is a refugee who came to the United States when he was just two years old. He is of mixed Georgian and Armenian ancestry. His entire family, including his parents and grandparents, was musically talented. The name Sardarov was given to him by his grandfather, with whom he shares a very special relationship; in fact, the two of them even have identical Cyrillic tattoos. In order to distinguish himself from his grandpa, whose name was also “Yuri,” Sardarov began to write his name with an additional “y” at the end of it.

He has a younger brother whose name is Nick, and he is eleven years his junior. Beginning in his junior year of high school, Sardarov was a student at Glenbrook North High School, which is located close to Chicago. He received his degree in the year 2006. At the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, where he was a member of a theater fraternity, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Performance in 2010.

His primary residences are in Chicago and Los Angeles, respectively. While he was working on the set of Chicago Fire, he shared a house with his fellow cast members Joe Minoso and Charlie Barnett. He is in a relationship with Madeleine. Since Sardarov is a fan of humor, he spent some of his leisure time in Chicago attending classes at The Second City.

Although he is most recognized for his role as Otis on the NBC series Chicago Fire, he has also garnered acclaim for his performances in the movies The Double, Argo, and The Ides of March. Throughout the course of his career, he has earned more than 17 acting credits. At the University of Michigan, he studied theater and received a bachelor’s degree in the subject.

In the film Quad, which was released in 2013, he has an appearance alongside Aaron Paul and Jeff Daniels. On two different short films, he is credited as the producer. He was raised in Northbrook, Illinois, the most of his boyhood, despite having been born into a family with Georgian and Armenian ancestry. During the time that he was working on the show Chicago Fire, he lived in an apartment with fellow cast members Joe Minoso and Charlie Barnett.
