Bio

William Daniels was born in Brooklyn, New York City, and is an American actor. David Daniels, a bricklayer, and his wife, Irene, welcomed him into the world in 1927. Daniels grew up in Brooklyn as part of the Daniels musical family. At the age of 16, he made his television debut as part of a variety show in 1943. Daniels made his Broadway debut the following year in Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse’s comedy-drama “Life With Father” (1939). Daniels was mostly a stage performer until the 1960s, with a few television guest star appearances. Daniels was awarded an Obie Award for his performance in Edward Albee’s play “The Zoo Story” (1958).

Daniels visited children’s hospitals on a charitable basis. He noticed that while most kids were not pleased to meet an actor who played a doctor, the fact that he voiced the talking automobile KITT always drew them in, so he altered his focus during his visits. He kept the kids entertained with KITT-style quips and answered their questions about “Knight Rider” while avoiding discussing his other, more prominent acting position. On the TV sitcom Boy Meets World, he portrayed George Feeny, a principal and teacher at John Adams High School (1993). Daniels, who has played John Adams numerous times, has yet another John Adams link. George Feeny, played by Daniels, congratulates Cory on the excellence of his film project in an episode of Boy Meets World (1993). “You think it’s a wonderful movie?” Cory continues. “No,” George says, referring to his prior part in The Graduate (In an episode of Boy Meets World (1993),

At Northwestern University, he met his future wife, Bonnie Bartlett. While working on 1776 (1972), he met Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner, with whom he would collaborate on St. Elsewhere a decade later (1982). Ed Begley Jr., his co-star in the 1982 film St. Elsewhere, would be the polar opposite. Being from the film industry, Begley arrived late and struggled to remember his lines, whereas Daniels, coming from the theatre, learned a lot of lines. His father, David Daniels, was a bricklayer, and his mother, Irene Daniels, was a telephone operator. His ancestors have always lived long lives. His character in St. Elsewhere (1982) was born in Boston, and he has had a Boston accent since he was 15 years old. Producer Glen A. Larson requested Daniels to read for the voice of a car in another show, Knight Rider, before he starred in St. Elsewhere (1982). (1982). He resisted, recalling the infamous failure

My Mother the Car (1965), but Larson maintained that it was a computer, not a car, that was talking, and lured Daniels into a modest Universal recording studio. He used to smoke a lot till the 1980s. Daniels was asked to speak at medical school graduations, particularly at Northwestern, his alma mater, because of his popularity on St. Elsewhere (1982). Because he wasn’t a doctor in real life, he turned down every single one of them. Daniels had to enunciate medical terminology using a medical dictionary on the set of St. Elsewhere (1982), along with Ed Flanders and Norman Lloyd. Before doing surgery, he had to give a speech as well. Daniels debuted on children’s radio with one of his sisters in 1936, when he was almost nine years old. He began his career as an Army radio station disc jockey in Italy in 1945, when he was 18 years old, before becoming a great actor. Years before he co-starred on St.

Elsewhere (1982) with Ed Begley Jr., he knew his family when he was very young. (1982) and George Feeny on Boy Meets World (1993) and Girl Meets World (1994). (2014). The 137-episode series received 62 Primetime Emmy Award nominations during its run. In the TV film “Knight Rider 2000,” Daniels reprised his role as KITT (1991). He played George Feeny, a demanding but kind mentor to protagonist Cory Matthews, in the sitcom “Boy Meets World” (1993-2000). (played by Ben Savage).

Feeny was one of Daniel’s most well-known parts, having appeared in 158 episodes of the show. He was a member of the Daniels Family song-and-dance company as a child, which performed throughout New York State. In 1941, his entire family was included in one of the earliest experimental television broadcasts. For his starring role as John Adams in the 1969 musical “1776,” he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical. Because he didn’t receive star billing at the time,

He couldn’t be considered for main actor (i.e., above the title). Daniels denied the nomination since Adams is clearly the leading man in 1776 (1972).Elected president of the Screen Actors Guild, defeating incumbent Richard Masur and challenger Angel Tompkins, who combined her two names to become “Angeltompkins” in order to be ranked first on the ballot(!)
