For the 2021 season, they will compete in the Frontier League.Prior to relocating to Troy, the Mets were headquartered in Little Falls, New York, where they were known as the Little Falls Mets from 1977 to 1988, and then in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where they were known as the Pittsfield Mets from 1989 to 2000 and the Pittsfield Astros from 2000 to present (2001).The ValleyCats played their first away game on June 18, 2002, in Lowell, Massachusetts, against their rivals, the Lowell Spinners, and it was their first road win.

The ValleyCats, who are minor league affiliates of the Houston Astros of the National League, were a member of the NL squad. To participate in the game, four ValleyCats were selected by their teammates. They are first baseman Phil Disher, left fielder Jack Shuck, pitcher Philip Rommel, and center fielder Thomas Steele. Steele, on the other hand, was injured only two weeks before the game and was replaced by Tri-City third baseman David Flores, who started in his stead. The National League All-Stars won the game on a walk-off RBI by Tri-David City’s Flores in the ninth inning. Flores was also named the game’s most valuable player.
