Bio

Tia Carrere was born on January 2, 1967, in the city of Honolulu, Hawaii, in the United States of America. Both of her parents worked in the banking industry; her mother’s name was Audrey Dulhania Janeiro, and she was a computer supervisor. She went to Sacred Hearts Academy when she was living in Honolulu. When she was seventeen years old, her exotic beauty attracted the eye of a producer as she was shopping at a grocery store. Tia Carrere uprooted her life and moved to Los Angeles so that she might further her acting career.

After spending a few months working as a model, she was offered a significant role in the American television series “General Hospital,” which is a medical drama. During those two years, she appeared in the program playing the role of Jade, a nursing student. She then went on to make guest appearances on a variety of other television programs, such as “MacGyver” and “Anything but Love.” After making appearances in movies such as “Fine Gold” (1989), “Instant Karma” (1990), and “Showdown in Little Tokyo” (1992), she became well-known thanks to the box-office success of the comedy “Wayne’s World” (1991).

The following year saw the release of the sequel, titled “Wayne’s World 2,” and she reprised her role as Wayne’s love interest in this installment. Her first studio album, titled “Dream,” was released in 1993 and was produced by Matt Prinz. She was considered for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the action comedy “True Lies,” which was released in 1994 and won many accolades. In addition, the movie that featured Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tom Arnold was put in for consideration for an Academy Award.

When she appeared in the television series ‘Relic Hunter’ in Canada in the late 1990s, it was one of the most significant parts she had ever played on television. Professor Sydney Fox, portrayed by Carrere, is an archaeology enthusiast who goes on expeditions all over the globe in quest of historical artifacts. The program, which had elements of both the paranormal and science fiction, was a huge success all over the globe and was shown in a variety of nations throughout the world.

Over the course of her career, she has appeared as a voice actress in a number of different television episodes, including “Lillo & Stitch: The Series” (2003-2006), “Mega XLR” (2004), and “Johnny Bravo” (2005). Her second studio album, titled Hawaiian, was released in 2007, and it was on this album that she worked with Daniel Ho, a record producer who has won several awards. Because of this, she was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Hawaiian Music Album. Ikena, her subsequent album, was released in 2008 and was ultimately nominated for a Grammy Award. Once again, Ho was the one who developed it.

Carrere’s fourth studio album, titled “He Nani,” was published in 2009, and her fifth studio album, titled “Huana Ke Aloha,” was released in 2010. Another Grammy nomination was bestowed to her in recognition of her fifth studio album. Her most recent film performances include parts in movies like “You May Not Kiss the Bride,” a romantic comedy from 2011, “Asteroid against Earth,” a science fiction movie from 2014, and “Gunshot Straight,” an action thriller from 2014.

It is possible to consider the American comedy “Wayne’s World,” which was released in 1992 and directed by Penelope Spheeris, to be Tia Carrere’s first significant work. Carrere portrayed the role of his love interest in the film, which marked Mike Myers’s debut in the leading role in a motion picture. When it was first made available to the public on February 14, 1992, the movie was an instant hit, and it went on to become the ninth highest-grossing film of the whole year. Because of how successful it was, many video games that were based on it were made available, all of which were met with mostly favorable reviews.

As a direct response to the great success and popularity of the first film, the makers of “Wayne’s World” produced a follow-up in 1993. Carrere played her previous part in the movie “Wayne’s World 2,” which also went by the name “Wayne’s World 2.” The picture, which was directed by Stephen Surjik and had some success, although it did not reach the same degree of popularity as its predecessor, was a modest hit. It was met with the majority of hostile responses.

Another of Tia Carrere’s well-known performances was the one in which she played a wicked witch in the fantasy film “Kull the Conqueror,” which was released in 1997. The book “The Hour of the Dragon” by Howard Conan served as the inspiration for the motion picture, which was directed by John Nicolella. In the Canadian television series Relic Hunter,’ she portrayed the role of Sydney Fox, a professor who searches the globe for ancient relics and goes all over the place. Her persona is usually matched against antagonists whose characters share her character’s goal of acquiring antiques for the sake of monetary gain.

The television show was highly welcomed and was shown in a number of different nations throughout the world. Tia Carrere’s first husband, Elie Samaha, was an entrepreneur in the film production and real estate industries. The couple tied the knot in 1992. After she was suspected of having an affair outside of her marriage, the pair decided to end their relationship. In 2002, she tied the knot with photographer Simon Wakelin, and the couple went on to have a daughter, Bianca, who was born in September of 2005. The couple divorced in 2010 and agreed to share joint custody of their child.

After completing her schooling, she embarked on a journey to Los Angeles in order to pursue her ambitions. After starring in a number of other programs in small parts, her breakthrough came when she was cast in the lead role of the soap opera ‘General Hospital.’ Her most well-known role was the one she portrayed as the main character’s love interest in the film series ‘Wayne’s World,’ which brought her the greatest attention. After achieving success in the movies, she went on to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a singer. Her first studio album, titled “Dream,” was released the following year in 1993, and subsequent albums bore her name.

Two Grammy Awards have been bestowed to her in recognition of her vocal ability. She was a contestant on the sixth season of the popular American dancing competition program “Dancing with the Stars,” which aired in 2006. At the moment, she calls Los Angeles her home base. She is a co-custodian of her daughter, Bianca, together with her ex-husband, Simon Wakelin. Bianca is the only child in the family. After making appearances in a number of films, including “Fine Gold” (1989), “Instant Karma” (1990), and “Showdown in Little Tokyo” (1991), she gained a significant amount of notoriety after starring in the smash blockbuster comedy “Wayne’s World” in the year 1992. The following year saw the release of the film’s sequel, titled “Wayne’s World 2,” in which she repeated her role as the love interest of the main character, Wayne.

The year 1993 saw the release of her first studio album titled “Dream,” which was produced by Matt Prinz. Her performance in the film “True Lies,” an award-winning action comedy from 1994, earned her a nomination for the “Saturn Award” in the category of Best Supporting Actress. The movie, which included well-known stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tom Arnold, was also nominated for an Academy Award. When she starred as the main character in the Canadian television series Relic Hunter’ in 1999, it was one of the most important works she had done on television up to that point.
