It is usual practice to refer to the period of a person’s life during which they are available for romantic interactions with other people as their “dating” years. Many people use the term “dating” to refer to the public appearance of two unmarried celebrities who may or may not be romantically attached to one another. These celebrities may or may not be seen together in public. When it is unknown if the two people in question are simply friends or are investigating the possibility of a more personal relationship, this word is employed.
