Bio

Scott Eric Weinger, whose given name is pronounced “wine-gur,” was born on October 5, 1975 in New York City, New York. His parents, Babs Weinger, who was a teacher, and Elliott Weinger, who was an orthopedic physician, were his parents. Scott is the oldest of four children and is followed in age by his brothers and sister. After spending the most of his formative years in southern Florida, he came to Los Angeles with his family when he was just starting to make a name for himself professionally.

In the autumn of 1994, Scott decided to leave the Los Angeles scene in order to pursue another one of his dreams: attending Harvard University. His departure from the hit television series Full House (1987), however, did not indicate that he was giving up acting completely. In addition to continuing his role as the voice of Aladdin (1992) in the Saturday morning TV series, he also finished two more full-length Aladdin DVDs and made a last cameo on “Full House,” all while keeping good marks in school.

In addition to all of that, the ambitious young man worked a part-time job as a youth journalist for Good Morning America. As if all of that weren’t enough to keep him occupied, he also played soccer (1975). During his time at Harvard, Scott earned a magna cum laude degree with a double major in English and French literature. He graduated in June of 1998 with both degrees.

In the very first internet interview he gave after moving back to Los Angeles, he gave the impression that he had not yet made up his mind about his future intentions, which were essentially comprised of writing, directing, acting, and news communication.

Since his return to Hollywood, he has starred in a horror film titled Shredder (2001), produced an award-winning film short titled The Cricket Player (2002), and provided his voice for the English-language dub of Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis (2001), Disney/Square Co.’s video game Kingdom Hearts (2002), “Mickey’s Philharmagic,” and “The Search for Mickey Mouse”!

Scott sees himself mainly as a writer and only secondarily as an actor at this point in his career. It was on the WB television program Like Family (2003) that he was given his first writing credit. The show is characterized as a “multi-ethnic crossover comedy about two very different families coming together under one roof.”

Recently, he was given credit for his work as a co-writer on another comedy produced by the WB called What I Like About You. D.J. had the fantasy that he was Aladdin in one of the episodes of Full House (1987), which was the episode in which the family went to Disney World. He provided the voice for Aladdin in both the television series and the speaking role in the film.

When he was nine years old, he first got interested in acting, and when he was ten, his parents engaged an agency for him to represent him in the industry. After that, Scott was in an advertisement for Ideal Toys, and in 1988, at the age of twelve, he made his first appearance in a film with his portrayal of Shark Attack Kid in the crime comedy movie “Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach.”

This performance earned him a nomination for a Kid’s Choice Blimp Award in the category of Favorite Movie. Following his performance as Patrick Hemingway in four episodes of the biographical miniseries “Hemingway,” Scott went on to play Steve Smith in two episodes of the drama series “Life Goes On,” and Eddie in the episode “ATM with a Heart of Gold” of the adventure comedy series “Eerie, Indiana.”

All of these roles were performed in the same year, which marked Scott’s first appearance in a television series. In spite of this, Scott made the decision to concentrate on his studies, and after completing his secondary schooling in 1994, he enrolled at Harvard University, where he studied English and American literature and received his degree with honors and highest distinction in 1998.

In the comedy “The Family Man,” which was written by Michael Warren and William Bickley and also featured Gregory Harrison and John Buchanan, Scott was selected to play the role of Steve Taylor in the year 1990. Steve Taylor was one of the main characters in the film.

In the animated action adventure titled “Aladdin,” which was released in 1994 and was nominated for a total of 12 awards, Scott was chosen to do the voice for the main character, Aladdin. The film ended up winning five of those accolades. In the years that followed, he appeared as a special guest or provided his voice for a role in an episode or two of a number of different television series.

Some of these series include the animated action adventure “Hercules”, the animated crime adventure “Walker, Texas Ranger,” and the animated family comedy “House of Mouse” (voice role). In the comedy “What I Like About You,” which was released in 2006, he played the supporting role Officer Rubin.

After that, he was cast to appear in an episode of both the comedy drama “Scrubs” and the romantic thriller drama “Mistresses.” Both of these shows are set in the 1990s. Scott is arguably best remembered for providing the voice of Aladdin in the animated adventure comedy titled after the same name that was released in 1992.

The film was written and produced by Ron Clements and John Musker, and it also featured the late Robin Williams and Linda Larkin in starring roles. The story of a poor child who discovers a magic lamp is told in the film, which went on to become a major success and won 33 prizes, including two Oscars, in addition to being nominated for 22 other awards.
