Bio

Perez Hilton is the stage name that blogger, writer, and television personality Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. uses. Lavandeira Jr. was born in Cuba and currently lives in the United States. Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. came to recognition as a consequence of his celebrity gossip blog, PerezHilton.com. As soon as he started contributing posts to the blog, it sprang to fame as one of the most hated online destinations owing to the author’s unreserved support of certain celebrities and unjust criticism of others. This caused the site to become one of the most talked about online.

Alleging that his fame and fortune are built upon the work of others and that he frequently uses copyrighted materials without first obtaining permission to do so, a number of paparazzi photographers and celebrities have filed numerous lawsuits against him. These lawsuits allege that his fame and fortune are built upon the work of others. Both his propensity for spreading rumors and the many lawsuits that have been brought against him are well-known aspects of his reputation. He is notorious for doing both.

Even though he is a gay person himself and has been very vocal about gay rights, he has been criticized by many gay rights activists for his controversial comments and behaviors, including his attempts at ‘outing’ gay celebrities like a former member of ‘N Sync named Lance Bass and actor Neil Patrick Harris. These are just two examples of the criticisms that have been leveled against him.

Perez Hilton, the proprietor of the popular blogging website that bears his name, the record label Perezious Music, the fashion website CoCoPerez.com, and many books, has expressed his desire to become known as “the gay Hispanic Oprah.” Hilton asserts that his various internet ventures, including those that have been detailed above, have allowed him to build an empire.

Perez Hilton was born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. on March 23, 1978, in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents Mario Sr. and Teresita Lavandeira. Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. is best known as Perez Hilton. He was given the name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. when he was born. When the youngster was just 15 years old, his father, who had owned and operated a wallpaper business, passed away from an aneurysm of the brain. This occurred precisely one week after the demise of his grandfather.

His formal education took place in the Catholic Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami, which is a school reserved only for males, and he got his diploma from that school in the year 1996. He received a full scholarship to attend New York University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from The Tisch School of the Arts in May of 2000. He went on to work in the theatre industry.

During the early years of the new millennium, Perez Hilton worked as a publishing manager for the LGBT rights organization GLAAD and as the managing editor of the gay men’s magazine ‘Instinct.’ At the same time, he was attempting to make it as an actor but was not at all successful in this endeavor. In addition to that, he worked as a freelance writer for LGBT journals and as a receptionist at Urban Outings, which was a gay events club located in New York City.

In the year 2001, he made his first appearance on television in an episode of “The Sopranos” called “Fortunate Son.” This episode was a part of the show’s third season. In addition, he appeared in the films “Help Required,” which was a short film, and “Campfire Tales,” a horror movie, both of which were released in the same year. Both of these films were produced in the same year.

In the year 2004, he made an appearance on the real-life weight loss show ‘Flab To Fab’ that was broadcast on VH1, specifically in the episode that was named ‘Madonna Style.’ In the beginning, I weighed 206 pounds, had a body fat percentage of 30 percent, and was 41 inches tall. He was successful in losing a total of 45 pounds over the course of a period of three months.

In September of 2004, he established the website PageSixSixSix.com, not as a personal journal but rather as a place for him to write about celebrities “since they’re significantly more amusing.” He did this because he believed that writing about celebrities would be more entertaining than writing about himself.

Because of an article that was written about it and published in “The Insider” on March 11, 2005, his blog became known as “Hollywood’s Most-Hated Website” during the course of the subsequent six months. Already well-known by his stage name, Perez Hilton, he shot to fame in July 2007 when “What Perez Sez” debuted on VH1 as the title of his very own reality television show. The first of the show’s six episodes were shown on television for the first time on September 11, 2007. He delivered the statement that former Cuban President Fidel Castro had gone away on August 17, 2007, the day after the funeral.

Yet, his claim was not corroborated by any major media source, and on September 21, 2007, Castro mocked the rumors that he had died when he appeared on Cuban television. He said that he had been “resurrected” from the dead. In August of 2007, he participated in the competition for the reality show “Celebrity Rap Superstar” on MTV. Despite his best efforts, he was eliminated from the competition after the sixth week of the contest.

The month after that, he presided over an episode of “Best of MADtv” as its host. He had a cameo role in the 2008 comedy film “Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!,” which was released in the same year. Also, in the same year, he appeared in episodes of the reality television shows “Queen Bees” and “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF: Casting Special.”Lucian Piane was the one who conceived and produced the song “The Clap,” which was released by him the following year (2008).

He has been in a wide range of music videos, some of the more noteworthy of which are “When I’m Gone” by Simple Plan, “Hush Hush” by The Pussycat Dolls, and “S&M” by Rihanna. In 2009, he was a presenter at the MuchMusic Video Awards, much as he was the previous year at the MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2008, he was a presenter at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

On the show “The Tyra Banks Show” on September 9, 2009, he expressed sorrow for his false reporting of Castro’s death and apologized for doing so. He also said that he did not know Castro was still alive at the time. 2009 was a busy year for him as he made guest appearances on five separate episodes of the television show ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation.’ Since that year, he has been serving as the reunion host for many seasons of the reality TV program titled “Bad Girls Club.”
