Maria Sara Bartiromo is an American financial journalist, news broadcaster, and author who was born on September 11, 1967. She is the host of Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel as well as Mornings with Maria and Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street on the Fox Business Network. The Mid- to late-1990s saw Bartiromo dubbed the “Money Honey,” a term she struggled with lest it damages her reputation as a financial journalist. Bartiromo submitted trademark applications in January 2007 to use the moniker “Money Honey” as the brand name for a line of educational toys, puzzles, and coloring books for youngsters. Her willingness and aptitude to perform the necessary behind-the-scenes duties for the position pleased Farber. She then worked as an intern at CNN.
Before joining CNBC in 1993 and spending the next 20 years as an on-air personality, Bartiromo spent five years working as a producer at CNN. She hosted Closing Bell and On the Money with Maria Bartiromo for CNBC. She was the first television reporter to provide real-time updates from the New York Stock Exchange floor.
