Malcolm McDowell Bio

Malcolm John Taylor Malcolm McDowell was born on June 13, 1943, in the town of Horsforth, which is located in England. Both of his grandparents owned businesses in the hospitality industry; his grandfather, Charles Taylor, ran a public house, and his grandmother, Edna Taylor, ran hotels. His two older sisters, Gloria and Judy, were responsible for his upbringing. When McDowell’s father was stationed in Bridlington, the McDowell family decided to make the move there as well.

He started attending the Tunbridge Boarding School when he was 11 years old, and then he transferred to the Cannock House School in Eltham, Kent, to complete his secondary education. When he was a teenager, he came to the realization that he had a strong interest in performing in theater. He decided to pursue a career in acting, so he registered at LAMDA, which stands for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. McDowell supported himself by working in a nut plant and at the bar that belonged to his father.

Because the bar went out of business, he had little choice but to take on a number of other odd jobs in order to provide for his family. Malcolm McDowell made his début in the role of Mick Travis in the feature film “If…,” which was directed by Lindsay Anderson and also starred Malcolm McDowell. In the early 1970s, he made appearances in all three of these films: Figures in a Landscape, The Raging Moon, and A Clockwork Orange.

Only in “O Lucky Man” and “Britannia Hospital” did he play the part of Mick Travis again after having previously played him in other films. During the 1970s, the actor appeared as the lead in a number of stage musicals, one of which was titled “The Collection.” The year 1975 saw the release of the French military film titled “Aces High,” in which he had a starring role. Another terrifying movie, ‘Voyage of the Damned,’ was launched into theaters the year after its predecessor. During this time, he appeared in the films “She Fell Among Thieves” (1978) and “Caligula” (1979), playing several characters in each.

McDowell made his debut on the big screen with the film “Time After Time” in 1979, in which he played the character of H. G. Wells. He was F.E. Cochrane in the action movie “Blue Thunder,” which he starred in. In the same year, in addition to his part as Reggie Wanker in “Get Crazy,” he also played the role of Wolf in the production of “Little Red Riding Hood” which was performed at Faerie Tale Theatre. In 1984, he was the producer, director, and narrator of the documentary titled “The Complete Beatles,” which was about the Fab Four and was about their music.

Two of his television shows from the year 1985 were titled Arthur the King and Gulag. After waiting another year, he was cast in the recurring role of Christopher Quinn on the television series “Monte Carlo.” His subsequent acting roles included those in films such as The Caller, Buy and Sell, Sunset, and Mortacci, all of which were filmed at a later date. In the film “Chain of Desire” from 1992, McDowell portrayed the character Hubert Bailey. In “Star Trek Generations,” which takes place two years after the original series, he was cast as the deranged Dr. Tolian Soran, and he did an excellent job of portraying that part.

In 1994, he also starred in the television movie “The Man Who Wouldn’t Die,” which was broadcast at the same time as the feature film. Tank Girl was a science-fiction/action comedy film that was released in 1995, and it had a starring role in it. His first role as an actor was in the 1996 production of “Wing Commander Academy,” in which he played the part of Commodore Geoffrey Tolwyn. All three of these shows included his voice acting, as did several others from the late 1990s, such as “Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys,” “Can of Worms,” and “Superman: The Animated Series.”

He made his debut in the film industry in the year 2000 with the British crime movie Mobster No. 1, in which he played a mobster. In the film “The Company,” which was released in 2003, he had a major part as “Mr. A.” of the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. One of McDowell’s films from the year, “I’ll Sleep When I Die,” was also released in the same year it was made. During the 2003–2004 season of ‘Teen Titans,’ he appeared in two episodes. These episodes took place in the year 2003.

Following that, he appeared in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” playing the part of Jonas Slaughter. Heroes’ Mr. Linderman started his job on the show in 2007, which was the seventh season of the show. In the same year, he also appeared in the film “Halloween” playing the role of Dr. Samuel Loomis. In that same year, he was a guest on an episode of “Masters of Science Fiction” that aired on Sky One. In 2009, the rock biography “Suck” was produced starring Malcolm McDowell, who also wrote and directed the film. In the December of that same year, he had a cameo appearance in the music video for “Snuff” which was created by Slipknot.

Two years later, in 2004, the film “Suing the Devil,” a comedy thriller starring him in the role of Satan, was released. Simultaneously, he was selected to play the role of Stanton Infeld in the television series “Franklin & Bash” on TNT. Her long list of acting credits includes parts in movies such as Vamps and Silent Hill: Revelations, as well as The Artist, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2012. In 2013, the short film “Cowboys & Engines” was made available to the public and featured McDowell. In the same year, he also appeared in Richard the Lionheart playing the role of King Henry II.
