Bio

If you’re from the United States, it’s probably reasonable to assume that you’re familiar with the name Lauren London. She has a pale complexion despite having an African-American mother, which she acquired from her father. At first, she struggled with her identification because of the significant change in the color of her skin. Yet, as she grew older, she realized the importance of valuing all aspects of her identity.

She acknowledged the fact that she was a Black woman like her mother, but she also respected the legacy of her father. She was a renegade who was also motivated to obtain what she wanted, and as a result, she skipped her second year of high school and completed the remainder of her education on her own. She started her career as a model when she was 17 years old, and not long after that, she started making appearances in music videos for a broad range of prominent singers.

It wasn’t until a full four years later that she made her debut on screen, first in television and then in film. She has continued to work as an actor in both movies and on television despite the fact that her performance in her first film, “ATL,” earned her both critical praise and a nomination for an Academy Award. Lauren Nicole London came into this world on December 5, 1984, in the county of Los Angeles, California, USA, to a parentage that has not been disclosed (a White Jewish father and an African-American mother), but she was named after her mother.

Her mother was of African-American descent, while her father was of Jewish descent. There’s also the possibility that she grew up without any siblings. While she was just three years old, her parents went through the divorce process. After that, her mother was the primary caregiver for the remaining years of her childhood for which she was responsible. She did spend some summers with her father, and during those times, he often enrolled her in summer programs that catered mostly to children of white ethnicity.

Other from the fact that she attended Palisades Charter High School, there is not a lot of information available about her academic history. She was a rebel from the beginning of her life; when she was sixteen years old, she got a tattoo of her boyfriend’s name, and she quit school when she was in the eleventh grade. She continued her study, but not at the same level as before; rather, she did it in the comfort of her own home.

She made the decision that she wanted to be an actor when she was seventeen years old, and since she was homeschooled, she had the flexibility to submit applications for parts. She subsequently said, “I remember being that way when I was 17 and rebelling against what everyone wanted me to be and who I felt I wanted to be.” She was referring to her teenage years. Laurel London first out her acting career in 2002 with a few commercials before moving on to participate in music videos for singers such as Tyrese, Ludacris, Jay-Z, and Pharrell.

But, she had to wait a bit longer than expected before making her debut on the big screen. Her first appearance on television was in an episode of the comedy “Everyone Hates Chris” that aired in 2006 and was titled “Everyone Hates Funerals.” She had an outstanding performance as Monay, the name of her role in that episode, which she played to a tee. In the same year, she made her debut as an actress in the film “ATL,” in which she portrayed the character of Erin “New New” Garnett. Her first role was in the film.

It was in this film that she made her first appearance as an actress. The next month, in November of 2007, her film “This Christmas” had its premiere. In the Christmas-themed romantic musical comedy-drama, she did not need to audition before being offered the role of Melanie “Mel” Whitfield; she was cast right away. In addition, she had a recurring role as Kelly on two episodes of the HBO series “Entourage,” which ran for eight seasons.

She had roles in the 2009 films “Next Day Air,” which had its world debut on May 8th, and “I Love You, Beth Cooper,” in which her character was known as Cameron “Cammy” Alcott (released on July 10). Not only that, but she also appeared in the documentary film Good Hair as a character based on herself. In the film adaptation of Madea’s Big Happy Family that was released in 2011, she plays the role of Renee. After that, in the next year, “Baggage Claim” was released, and in 2016, “The Ideal Match” was made available to readers.

In the meanwhile, she had a recurring part in the comedy-drama series The Game from 2013 through 2015, playing the character Keira Whitaker. The total number of episodes included in the series was 44. During the 2017–2018 television season, she had appearances on three different talk shows: “Chasing Ghost” on Rebel, “Guest Co-Hostesses Lauren London & Carnie Wilson/ Molly Shannon” on “The Talk,” and “Dave East vs. Nipsey Hussle” on “Hip Hop Square.”

It is possible that she will appear in the films “Always & 4Ever” and “Poinsettias for Christmas” in the year 2018.
Her most recent project is the television drama series “Games People Play,” which aired on television on April 23, 2019, and had its first season come to an end on June 25, 2019. It’s possible that when she was cast in the show “ATL,” Lauren London had her greatest break ever.

Despite the fact that the character of Erin was only tangentially based on T-Boz, she was finally chosen to play the role after a total of five auditions. She also conducted thorough study and had a conversation with T-Boz in order to present a genuine depiction of the character.
