Kevin George Knipfing was born on April 26, 1965 in Mineola, Long Island, New York. His parents, Janet (Klein), who worked in an office, and Joseph Valentine Knipfing, Jr., who owned an insurance firm, were his parents. Kevin James was named after his father.
