Kate De Goldi was born in Christchurch in 1959. Even as a young girl, she was already filling volumes with her stories, and her classmates at school performed plays that she had written. She didn’t start writing short tales until she was 28 years old, and she received awards almost immediately, which solidified her desire to make writing her job. The rights have been purchased by Allen & Unwin Publishers in Australia, and the rights have also been purchased by parties in the Netherlands and Germany.
