Robert Allen In Brooklyn, New York City, Jerry Seinfeld was born to Austrian-Jewish sign manufacturer Kalman Seinfeld and Betty Seinfeld. He spent much of his childhood in Massapequa, New York. He developed a penchant for stand-up comedy when he was still in college. After graduating, he began working at the comedy club “Catch a Rising Star” in New York City, pursuing his passion even further.
