Jeremiah “Jerry” O’Connell is an American actor who was born on February 17, 1974. He is best known for his roles as Detective Woody Hoyt in the drama Crossing Jordan, Quinn Mallory in the television series Sliders, Andrew Clements in My Secret Identity, Vern Tessio in the film Stand by Me (1986), Frank Cushman in Jerry Maguire (1996), Derek in Scream 2 (1997), and Charlie Carbone in Kangaroo Jack Up to the show’s discontinuation in 2011, he portrayed Pete Kaczmarek on the television series The Defenders, which aired on CBS. In addition to that, he had the lead part in the comic horror flick Piranha 3D. (2010). In the comedy horror series Scream Queens, he appeared as a guest star in the year 2016.

O’Connell was born in Manhattan to Linda O’Connell, who worked as an art instructor, and Michael O’Connell, who worked as an art director for an advertising business. Charles S. Witkowski, the man who he inherited from his maternal grandpa, served as Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey. His genealogy may be traced back to Ireland (half), Italy (one quarter), and Poland (one quarter).

O’Connell spent his childhood in Manhattan, where he was also nurtured alongside his younger brother, the actor Charlie O’Connell.
