Fernando Verdasco Carmona was born in Madrid, Spain, on November 15, 1983. He is a Spanish professional tennis player who competes in the Davis Cup. His highest singles position during his career is world No. 7, which he attained in April 2009. He turned professional in 2001 and finished the year ranked 464th in the world. 2002 was a fantastic year for him, as he won his first Futures category title in Spain F1 and finished second in Spain F3.
