Dylan Neal was born in 1969 in the Canadian city of Richmond Hill. His family moved to Oakville, Ontario, four months after he was born, where he was raised. Initially, he wished to pursue a career as a professional squash player, so he attended Appleby College in Oakville. Neal attended T. A. Blakelock High School in Oakville for his final two years of high school before graduating. The school’s Drama Program was where he first developed an interest in the Performing Arts, and he went on to participate in it.
The advice of his drama teacher influenced Neal’s decision to pursue a career in the performing arts. Înainte of starting his acting career, Neal worked as a caterer, delivering lunch baskets to private businesses in industrial areas throughout Toronto. Prior to becoming an actor, he worked as a pizza delivery driver for a living. He has always had a strong interest in furniture making. He is a dual citizen of both Canada and the United States of America.
He is best known for his roles as Dylan Shaw on the ABC soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, Doug Witter on Dawson’s Creek, and Detective Mike Celluci on the supernatural television series Blood Ties. He also had a recurring role on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch as Aaron Jacobs. Cedar Cove, the Hallmark Channel’s first scripted television series, landed Neal a starring role opposite Andie MacDowell in the lead role in 2013.
Deborah Macomber’s series of books of the same name, which debuted on July 20, 2013, was the inspiration for the show’s debut. Following the sale of his television movie franchise to the newly rebranded Hallmark Movies and Mystery Channel, he went on to write, executive produce, and star as Henry Ross in Hallmark’s original mystery series Gourmet Detective, which premiered in 2015.
As of 2018, Dylan is still writing, producing, and starring in a variety of Hallmark movies, which he founded. Néal is married to Becky Southwell, a television writer, and producer who has collaborated with him on several Gourmet Detective films, including the first. They were married on September 21, 1996, and are the parents of two children who were born to them.
The Bold and the Beautiful actor Neal McDonough has admitted that he was initially concerned about his ability to find another acting role after finishing his work on the show. There are certain expectations of soap opera actors — or, conversely, there is a certain lack of expectations of soap opera actors, according to him.
Doug Witter, a small-town police officer, was his character in the WB television drama Dawson’s Creek, which he played between 1998 and 2003. His character’s sexual orientation was revealed to be homosexual during the series’ final season. In the television film The President’s Man, which aired in 2000, Neal portrays a secret agent opposite Chuck Norris. The show premiered on CBS on April 2nd.
In 2007, Neal starred as Detective Mike Celluci in Lifetime’s Canadian vampire fantasy series Blood Ties, in which he co-starred with Christina Cox and Kyle Schmid as well as other actors. Neal, Cox, and Schmid were ultimately chosen as the three main characters of the show over other auditioning actors by the show’s producers, who were impressed by the natural chemistry that existed between the three actors.
Fans have frequently praised the three actors for their on-screen chemistry and camaraderie, according to Neal, who shared his thoughts on the subject later. Neal starred as the male lead opposite Andie MacDowell in the Hallmark Channel television series Cedar Cove, which aired from 2007 to 2009. Neal portrays Jack Griffith, a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
In the film adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, he portrayed Bob Adams, the stepfather of the main character Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) (2015). Southwell Neal Entertainment is owned and operated by Neal and his wife, Becky Southwell, who write and produce their own projects. In addition to writing and executive producing the Gourmet Detective original films for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which are based on Peter King’s novels, they also serve as executive producers.
To date, Neal has produced five television movies based on the character, the most recent of which was released in February 2020. Dylan Neal will be departing from the United States. The Hallmark star announced on Instagram that he and his family will be relocating to a new location in Los Angeles in the not too distant future.
Instead, they’ve decided to travel to a more exotic locale. Neal had been teasing his big move on Instagram for quite some time, but he finally revealed his final destination: Portugal. He and his wife are not simply taking a vacation in the area. This is a long-term relocation. Neal revealed in his post that he and his family will be relocating to Lisbon, where they will live close to the ocean, similar to how they currently live close to the ocean in Los Angeles.
When it comes to world-class beaches like the Algarve (those caves! ), or cities like Lisbon, Porto, and Braga, or the Silver Coast, Portugal and its residents “make Portugal such an attractive and lovely country,” according to him. He had previously shared a number of photos on Instagram and expressed his excitement about making such a significant life change. “Can you guess who’s moving to Europe?!?” he wrote.
Beck and I have always wanted to travel and live abroad, and the stars have finally aligned to make that a reality. Can you guess which country we’ll be relocating to based on these photos? There are a couple of them that are a dead giveaway to anyone who has been there before. There will be more… The hashtags “adventure” and “carpe diem” are used.
We’ll just go ahead and start planning our trip now,” Molly McCook responded, and Neal responded, “You better! Molly, the FOOD Molly… Several people have expressed interest in a television series based on the Hillary Greene detective novels written by Faith Martin, according to Neal, who posted on Instagram that he is not retiring. He and his wife, Becky Southwell, optioned the novels, but Hallmark will not be producing a new series based on the books. Instead, it will be filmed in the United Kingdom.
“That won’t be a Hallmark project, but it will coincidentally shoot in the United Kingdom, making it a much more convenient ‘commute’ from Lisbon as it turns out,” he wrote. Neal and Southwell write and produce their own projects, including the “Gourmet Detective” television series that aired on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which they also wrote and produced. Neal indicated in an Instagram post that he is still open to the possibility of working with Hallmark, but it did not appear that anything was currently in the works.
“We’ll be back in North America for work (Hallmark has my phone number), as well as to visit friends and family on a regular basis,” he wrote. “They’ve got my number…”, Neal responded simply when asked whether he would continue to appear in Hallmark movies in a previous post. When another fan expressed disappointment that he would no longer be appearing in Hallmark movies, he responded by writing: “Just a plane away…” When Neal posted about bringing up the idea of a Christmas-themed “The Gourmet Detective” movie to Hallmark in December, he received a lot of positive feedback from his followers.
Neal will appear in the Hallmark movie “Christmas She Wrote” in 2020. He also appears as the main character in the Hallmark Channel’s “The Gourmet Detective” series, and he previously appeared as Jack Griffith on the Hallmark Channel’s “Cedar Cove” series. Southwell Neal Entertainment, with the support of Canada’s Play Media, will adapt the popular DI Hillary Greene book series from author Faith Martin into a television drama.
Becky Southwell and Dylan Neal’s Southwell Neal Entertainment will produce the drama with the support of Play Media. Southwell Neal Entertainment has optioned the film and television rights to the 18-book series, which follows the exploits of the brilliant cold-case detective and former LAPD detective John Sullivan. The series has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide and has been optioned for film and television.
Southwell and Neal are the creators and executive producers of Hallmark’s Gourmet Detective series, which also features Neal in the lead role of Henry Ross, who he played in Fifty Shades of Grey. According to Neal, “We are delighted that Faith has entrusted us with bringing Hillary to the television screen, and we are confident that her millions of loyal readers will be joined by even more television viewers.”
The DI Hillary Greene novels are published by Joffe Books, and Southwell Neal was represented in the transaction by Darren Trattner of Jack away Tyerman in Los Angeles. Dylan Neal is unquestionably an actor who is well-versed in the Hallmark Channel universe. The actor, who was born in Canada, is currently in the midst of filming the third season of the popular Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove.
While fans wait for the premiere of the new season, Dylan appears in and serves as executive producer for the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel film Gourmet Detective, in which he also stars. In the first installment of a brand-new Mystery Movie Series, Peter King’s novels serve as the inspiration for the film. Dylan plays a chef-turned-sleuth whose knowledge of the kitchen aids him in the investigation of culinary mysteries.
Dylan Southwell and his wife Becky Southwell collaborated on the script. Brooke Burns, Samantha Harris, and Laura Mennell are also featured in the film. Gourmet Detective will make its television debut on Saturday, May 16 at 9 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET/PT. With the help of the Pop Culture Principle, Dylan discusses his role in the film, what it was like to work with Brooke Burns, and what he hopes viewers will take away from the film after watching it for themselves.
