He dropped out of school shortly after coming and was forced to live on the streets for a period of time. A chance encounter with a photographer resulted in Hounsou being introduced to fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who urged her to pursue a modeling career in the fashion industry.

He appeared as the narrator in ESPN’s series of “32 Teams, 1 Dream” commercials for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, which aired in 2010. On September 22, 2009, he delivered a speech at the United Nations Climate Change Summit in New York City. During a press conference in Paris on December 1, 2009, he stated that wealthy countries “need to be held accountable” for their contribution to climate change.

During a recent interview, he talked about his reaction to one of his peers referring to his 10-year-old son Kenzo Lee Hounsou, whom he shares with his ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons, like the N-word. The “A Quiet Place 2” actor, 55, recalls a conversation he had with his son after a soccer match.

In one instance, I went to pick up my son after a soccer game, and he informed me that another child had called him the N-word. According to Hounsou, who appeared on SiriusXM’s “The Clay Cane Show,” the action begins at 6 a.m.” “He’s thinking to himself, ‘Why do you have to refer to me as that word?'” My thoughts were along the lines of, ‘When do they start to be treated as second-class citizens?’

When asked how he dealt with the situation, the Oscar-nominated actor responded that he instructed his son to point out the foul-mouthed child, who was already getting into his own parents’ car to leave the scene at the time. He then offered the fifth-grader a few words of comfort as he dealt with the humiliation of being treated so badly. “I replied, ‘Don’t take it personally,’ and she agreed.

Others may be uneasy and feel compelled to use a derogatory [word] to describe you.” They are currently embroiled in a legal battle over Kenzo, with the “Blood Diamond” actress asking for shared custody from the Baby Phat founder in August of this year. Hounsou alleged in an interview with TMZ that Simmons purposely kept Kenzo away from him on Father’s Day last year and that she has accused him of being an absentee father.

Kenzo is the sole kid of Housou and his wife. It is no secret to any Black parent that parenting children entail guiding them through the complexities of racism. According to Djimon Hounsou, this occurred when his 10-year-old son Kenzo Lee Hounsou (whose mother is Kimora Lee Simmons) informed him that he had been referred to as the N-word by another student.

In one instance, I went to pick up my son after a soccer game, and he informed me that another child had called him the N-word. The Clay Cane Show on SiriusXM broadcasted Hounsou’s comments on March 10: “That’s how early it starts.” “He’s thinking to himself, ‘Why do you have to use that word on me?'” Kenzo is a young boy of ten years old. “I was asking, ‘When do they start to be regarded as second-class citizens?'”

Djimon expressed his concern. The Oscar-nominated actor told Cane that he was at the soccer game when the incident occurred and that he dealt with it that way. “I asked, ‘Which kid?'” I recalled. And the kid was getting into his car and driving away. As I put it: “Please do not take this personally.” Others may be insecure and feel compelled to use a derogatory [word] to describe you. A Quiet Place Part II, which will be released in theatres on March 20, was the subject of the promotion for the actor’s future picture.

As a popular male model, Hounsou has walked the catwalks of Paris and London, among other cities. Having departed the modeling industry, he has since worked on films such as Gladiator (2000), directed by Ridley Scott, and Amistad (1997), directed by Steven Spielberg.
