Bio

Her ancestors were of Swiss origin. In the aftermath of his mother’s conversion, Snider and his siblings were raised as Episcopalians. A church choir, multiple school choruses, and Baldwin High School’s Concert Choir were among his musical endeavors as a youngster. Through his singing, he was also chosen to participate in the All-State Chorus. Snider was a member of a Black Sabbath tribute band while he was in the 8th grade. Career the 1970s–1980s Snider joined Twisted Sister in the spring of 1976 and quickly rose to the position of a lead songwriter.

Under the Blade, was released in September 1982, and it quickly gained popularity in the United Kingdom. Twisted Sister’s sophomore album, You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll, was released less than a year after their debut. It was on May 10th, 1984, that their third album, Stay Hungry, was released. With the singles “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” this would go on to become the band’s most popular album. The metal-inspired drag character Snider created with long blond hair, copious amounts of eye shadow and rouge, and bright red lipstick was created to highlight the “twisted sister” image.

During his testimony before the United States Senate in 1985, Dee Snider said  Evidence was presented in the following ways: Heavy Metal Mania was the first MTV program to be entirely devoted to heavy metal videos, airing in the mid-1980s prior to the premiere of Headbangers Ball. ‘Dee Snider’ hosted the first episode, which aired in June of 1985.

Metal news, interviews with metal artists, and co-hosts in the studio were all featured during the show. Come Out and Play was released by Twisted Sister the following November, and it went on to sell over 500,000 copies worldwide, though the tour was a disappointment due to a lackluster performance.

In 1985, the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) petitioned the Senate to hold a hearing on the issue of introducing a parental warning system that would label all albums that contained offensive material. The Senate agreed to hold the hearing. Letters identifying the type of objectionable content that would be found in each album were to be included in the system (e.g. O for occult themes, S for sex, D for drugs, V for violence, etc.).

Dee Snider, John Denver, and Frank Zappa were among the musicians who spoke out against censorship and the proposed warning system in their respective hearings. Despite the fact that the system was never implemented, the outcome of the hearing resulted in the creation of the generic “Parental Advisory: Explicit Content” label that is now in use everywhere. It was the wives of Washington, D.C. power brokers Senator Al Gore (D-TN) and Secretary of State James Baker who founded the PMRC in the beginning. Tipper Gore, in particular, became the public face of the PMRC and a public adversary of Snider during the hearings, a role that he plays.

In perfection. Strangely enough, during the 2000 presidential election season in the United States, Snider publicly endorsed Vice President Al Gore for election to the presidency. With Love Is for Suckers, Twisted Sister released their fifth studio album. Dee Snider had intended to release the album as a solo effort, but Atlantic Records urged him to go with the Twisted Sister moniker instead. On the 12th of October that year, Snider announced his departure from the band.

Touring had only lasted until October of the previous year. In the midst of this, Snider formed Desperado, a band that included former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr, ex-Gillan guitarist Bernie Torme, and bassist Marc Russel, among others. Bloodied But Unbowed was the title of the band’s only album, which was never officially released but was widely bootlegged on CD under the name Ace.

In Manchester, England, Snider performs for the audience. Joe Franco, a good friend of Twisted Sister and the drummer on the album Love Is for Suckers, as well as Al Pitrelli and Marc Russel, joined Snider in the 1990s to form Widowmaker with whom he collaborated on the album. Blood and Bullets and Stand By For Pain were the names of two albums released by the quartet, both of which received only limited underground success.

When Dee Snider’s SMFs (Sick Mother Fuckers) was formed in the late 1990s, it was intended to be a “self-tribute” band to Snider’s original band, Twisted Sister, with former Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero. Dee Snider, Derek Tailer, Charlie Mills, Keith Alexander, and Spike were all part of the regular line-up for this show.

On the television show The Terrible Thunderlizards, he produced the theme tune, which debuted in 1993. ‘House of Hair,’ a syndicated 1980s hard rock/heavy metal radio show hosted by Dee Snider, premiered in 1997 and is currently broadcast on over 200 radio stations across North America. The United Stations Radio Networks syndicates the program. The show’s format is two hours long and includes Snider’s concluding catchphrase.

If it ain’t metal, it’s junk!” as the show’s ending theme. Celine Dion covered “The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us All)” in 1998 te that says, ‘Y’ has ten million dollars?'” Please contact me by phone. I’ve got the script all set to go, Robert Englund is attached, and I’ve, and Massachusetts, he affectionately referred to his listeners as his “Peeps,” and “DEE” euro stickers, which were printed by the television movie in which Snider also appeared as him.

When California Governor Gray Davis was recalled in 2003, he appeared to be featured as the “voice of the network.” The Van Helsing’s Curse live show, which has been touring the United States since 2004, has featured Snider as the narrator. The show features a mix of well-known music with dark undertones, as well as an occasional segment of storytelling to accompany the music. Contrary to popular belief,
