Mya Erlikh, also called Damn Homie and DamnHomie11, is an American social media character who’s best known for her humor videos on Instagram. As of May 2020, she’s more than 1 million followers around the stage. Erlikh lived in Moscow, Russia until her family moved to the US when she was 9.
“When I was 5 years old my mom just got up one day and left. My father had to essentially raise me [until] he fulfilled my step-mom when I was 11.” Moving to the States was especially hard on Erlikh because she spoke no English and was shunned by her peers: “It was a quite difficult transition going to college and not understanding the language.”
“I’d [parents] tell their children to not be friends with me because I’d let them know that I don’t talk to my biological mother, and they would say,’ what type of person doesn’t talk to their mom?’ When in reality she did not talk to me'” In 15, Erlikh reunited with her mother for the first time because her mother had walked out of the family a decade earlier. The short reunion would also be the last. Erlikh maintained: “She took me into a pub in town and told everybody I was 21. After I told my dad, I did not want to see her again. It was heartbreaking to meet somebody that is supposed to be this near you, and you feel nothing.”
Erlikh began her career as a realtor, but soon realized that the nine-to-five mill wasn’t for her. That’s when she turned to Instagram for earnings: “I was just miserable doing. I took the opportunity for earning less money, but to have the opportunity to really be happy, and I think it’s the best choice I ever made.”
As of May 2020, she gathered more than 1 million followers on her damnhomie11 Instagram accounts and over 502,000 followers on her damn_homie__ account. She also runs her OnlyFans accounts with over 27,000 enjoys. Erlikh broke off an engagement with a man who she said he couldn’t take her lifestyle in the spotlight: “Everyone I have been with has always wanted me to sit home and pop out children. If I meet the perfect person I would really like to share a life together, but I would rather be alone than be with someone that doesn’t make me happy.”
