Berlinda Tolbert is an American film and television actress. Tolbert is best known for her role as Jenny Willis Jefferson, the daughter of Tom and Helen Willis on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons, which originally aired from 1975 until 1985. Tolbert majored in theater at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. She also studied drama in London.

Berlinda Tolbert met Bob Reid, a journalist and producer, in Atlanta, while she was filming for a TV show and Bob was working with NBC. It was love at first sight and a whirlwind romance followed, wherein the couple decided to spend the rest of their lives together, after knowing each other for only 11 days. The lovebirds were married on the 14th of February 1979 in Rhode Island.
The initial seven years of their married life were spent long-distance, as Bob was working in New York while Berlinda had professional commitments in Los Angeles. Although they would make time to visit and stay connected through calls, it was a difficult phase, and Bob decided to quit his job and shift to LA. He took up a journalist’s position at CBS so they could stay together.
