Benjamin Walker Bio

A.K.A. Benjamin Walker was born in the United States of America on June 21, 1982. Even though he appeared in the movies Kinsey and Flags of Our Fathers as well as the critically acclaimed musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, the role that brought him the most notoriety is arguably the one he played as Abraham Lincoln, the main character in the film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which was released in 2012. In 2016, he played the role of Patrick Bateman in the Broadway production of American Psycho: The Musical.

Benjamin Walker is well known for his performance as ‘Patrick Bateman’ in the musical adaptation of American Psycho, which he has given on Broadway in recent times. His performance as the titular character in Bloody Bloody was met with widespread critical praise, and since then, he has been in a variety of other theater productions. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a play written by Tennessee Williams, and Scarlett Johansson currently plays the role of Katrina on Broadway opposite Andrew Jackson and Brick. In addition, he has been on Broadway in the plays “Les Liaisons Dangereuses,” directed by Rufus Norris, and “Inherit the Wind,” directed by Doug Hughes. Both of these productions were directed by the aforementioned directors. On the big screen, his most recent role was in the independent film Shimmer Lake, which was directed by Oren Uziel.

Walker Davis is the younger son of Jeannine Davis, who is a music teacher, and Greg Davis, who are both from Cartersville, Georgia. Walker’s middle name is Greg. Because there was already a Benjamin Davis registered with the Screen Actors Guild, he used his mother’s maiden name as his professional moniker instead. His scholastic journey took him to a number of prestigious institutions, including the Cartersville High School in Georgia, the Interlochen Arts Academy close to Traverse City, Michigan, and the Juilliard School in New York City. His graduation from Juilliard’s Actor Training Program took place in the year 2004.

Walker portrayed Bertram Cates in the performance of Inherit the Wind that ran on Broadway in February of 2007, and the play was called Inherit the Wind. Lyceum Theatre on April 12 for a 10-week run that is sold out every night. The production was put forward for a total of four Tony Award nominations, one of which was for “Best Revival.” In April of 2008, the Roundabout Theatre Company performed Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and Walker had the role of the Chevalier Danceny in the production. The character he played was an innocent lover who becomes the sex pawn of the evil La Marquise de Merteuil. He was excellent at portraying this role. The theater publication Broadway World referred to it as the “definitive fight of the sexes,” and the play was nominated for six Tony Awards.

In December 2007, Walker gave a performance as the titular character in the musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, which had its world premiere at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. The production was staged by Center Theatre Group.

In 2010, he reprised his performance of the role at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Broadway as well as the Public Theater, which is located off-Broadway. The musical’s run was successful despite its relatively short duration. Although it was warmly acclaimed by audiences and reviewers alike, it was not even considered for an Oscar in the acting or screenplay categories. Walker has portrayed the lead role in multiple iterations of the show, all of which have received high praise from reviewers. Among these are Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: The Concert Version and the performance’s return to the Public Theater in March 2010 which was extended three times beyond its original run length. The last scene was filmed on January 2, 2011, bringing an end to the production.

Walker was a part of the critically acclaimed narrative short film “All Saint’s Day,” which took home a prize at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He had minor appearances in the independent films Coach and The War Boys, both of which came out in 2009. Walker was supposed to play the character of Hank McCoy/Beast in the film X-Men: First Class, which was released in 2010, but he withdrew from consideration for the part so that he could participate in the Broadway production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. In January of 2011, it was announced that Walker would take on the role of Abraham Lincoln in the film adaptation of the novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

The film was released in theaters in June of 2012. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Walker mentioned that in order to get into character for his role as Abraham Lincoln, he read various biographies of the president. The movie adaptation of “Paradise Lost” was canceled in 2012 after he was cast in the role of “Archangel Michael,” but the production was still in development at the time. He performed the part of Kevin Connolly in the movie Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, which was released in 2012.

Because acting was something that Benjamin had always dreamed of doing, he got his start in the business by performing in school shows at a young age. The aspiring actor relocated to Michigan after completing their senior year of high school in order to attend the Arts Academy there. Following that, Benjamin made the trip to New York City and enrolled in acting studies at the Juilliard School. He remained there until the year 2004, at which time he graduated.

In the same year that Benjamin Walker graduated from acting school, he was offered a role in a film. When the actor was younger, he portrayed the leading part of Kinsey, the protagonist, in the biopic Kinsey. The life of Professor Alfred Kinsey, who made significant contributions to the field of human sexuality research and attracted broad attention to taboo subjects, is the subject of this biographical film.
