Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, born on June 14, 2002, in Benin, is a Nigerian singer best known by her stage name, Ayra Starr. At the age of 16, she signed with Quove Model Management, where she worked for two years before deciding to pursue a career in music instead. After months of uploading versions of popular songs on Instagram, she released her first original song in December 2019. In March and April, Ayra Starr released remixes of “Ija” and “Away” that featured Tokimonsta and Lilo, respectively. Her singing can be heard on the Crayon EP that came out around the same time as the song “In Sync.” The UC Berkeley Nigerian Students Association sponsored a Virtual Culture Show, and she performed there under the name The Olori Awards. Mavin released the music video for her single “DITR” on April 28th, 2021 via YouTube. A different music video, for a song titled “Sare,” was released to the public in June of 2021. Both song videos were directed by Afolabi Olalekan.
