Andrew Scott Rannells, better known by his stage name Andrew Rannells, was born on August 23, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. He is an actor and producer who has appeared in films such as A Simple Favor (2018), The Intern (2015), and Bachelorette (2015). Charlotte Rannells is a British actress. Rannells was born to Charlotte and Ronald Rannells in Omaha, Nebraska.With three sisters and an older brother, he is the fourth of five siblings. Rannells went to Omaha’s Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school and subsequently Creighton Preparatory School, an all-boys Roman Catholic school. Rannells got his start as a professional actor as a teenager through voice acting, where he was active in community theatre. He obtained work with the animation production company DIC Entertainment through an Omaha casting call in the mid-1990s. He was then cast as a main voice actor in a number of their television shows. While pursuing theatre, he continued to work in the medium for a number of years. From 2001 until 2004, Rannells worked with the New York City-based production company 4Kids Entertainment, doing voice acting for various English dubs of anime series such as Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! as well as serving as voice director for the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! and Sonic X dubs.

Rannells appeared in a variety of regional theatrical shows before landing his first Broadway role, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Miss Saigon, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. In September 2002, he earned best actor in a musical at the B. Iden Payne Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements in Austin theatre, for his performance as Hedwig at the Zachary Scott Theater Center in Austin, Texas. [13] From 2002 through 2012, she made her Broadway debut in The Book of Mormon Rannells in 2009. In the 2012 film Bach­elorette, Rannells portrayed a stripper, and in the 2012–13 tele­vi­sion series The New Nor­mal, he played Bryan Collins, the protagonist character. He played Eli­jah on the HBO tele­visi­on series Girls, which was one of his most well-known roles. From October 27 to November 29, 2015, he temporarily filled in for Jonathan Groff in the character of King George III in Hamil­ton on Broad­way, while Groff completed pre-arranged filming engagements. In James Lap­ine’s Falsettos, Rannells played “Whizzer Brown.” Chris­tian Borle and Stephanie J. Block, who played Marvin and Trina, respectively, joined him on the set. From October 27, 2016 to January 8, 2017, the mu­si­cal was on stage (with pre­views starting on September 29). For his performance, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Fea­tured Act Rannells arrived to New York City after graduating from high school in 1997 and spent two years studying drama at Marymount Manhattan College before beginning to audition full-time and landing gigs.

During this time, he also returned to voice acting, with roles in Netflix’s Big Mouth (2017–present) and Amazon’s Invincible (2021–present) among his significant credits. Too Much Is Not Enough, a memoir about his childhood. It’s a collection of articles on his upbringing in Omaha, Nebraska, and his time in New York prior to his Broadway debut in Hairspray in 2005.  With Season 2 Episode 7 of Modern Love, How Do You Remember Me?, he made his directorial debut.
