Bio

Louis Krige was a young doctor. The Knights later relocated to Port Elizabeth, where Alice grew up in what she describes as a “very happy family,” a family for which she is best known for her role in Ghost Story (1981). Her introduction to the world of Star Trek/sci-fi conventions was an obvious and lasting impact on her experience with Star Trek: First Contact. These weekend-long conventions are held throughout the United States and Europe (primarily in the United Kingdom and Germany).

They have “guests” like Alice who give presentations, sign autographs, and so on. She has several new projects to her credit in the new millennium, including The Little Vampire (2000), the Star Trek: Voyager (1995) series finale “Endgame”, Attila (2001), Dinotopia (2002), Reign of Fire (2002), Children of Dune (2003),

The Mystery of Natalie Wood (2004), and a recurring guest role in the HBO series Deadwood (2004). Current projects include a Julius Caesar biopic, the horror film Silent Hill (2006), Lonely Hearts (2006), and The Contract (2006). (2006). She also continues to appear at conventions on a sporadic basis and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in literature by Rhodes University. Alice Krige is married to writer/director Paul Schoolman and describes her lifestyle as “itinerant.” Despite the fact that she and her husband have a permanent residence in the United States, they spend the majority of their time living and working abroad.

ting career in London). She had no dreams or aspirations of pursuing an acting career as a child; in fact, as a child, she wanted to be a dancer, but her father disapproved. Instead, she prepared to follow in her mother’s footsteps by enrolling at Rhodes University in Grahamstown and pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology and literature (graduating in 1975). However, by chance or fate, Alice decided to “take up a little timetable” by enrolling in a drama class in order to use a free credit. This decision would have far-reaching consequences, resulting in a Rhodes honors degree in drama, a move to London, and a new career path.  She began three years of study at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama after arriving in England.

Her first professional acting role was in a small television role in a BBC Play for Today in 1979. Alice made her feature film debut as Sybil Gordon in Chariots of Fire, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1980. (1981). She then starred in the television adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities (1980), which was followed by her memorable dual role as the vengeful spirit in Ghost Story (1981). (1981). In 1981, she made her West End debut in Bernard Shaw’s Arms and the Man, for which she received both a Plays and Players Award and a Laurence Olivier Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Because of her early success in the theatre, she decided to further her career by working with the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company. Alice appeared in “King Lear,” ”

The Tempest,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” and “Cyrano de Bergerac” during her two seasons with the RSC (1982-83). She returned to work in film and television after her time with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Her career is best described as a mash-up of both mediums. She starred in a variety of films, including King David (1985), Barfly (1987), Haunted Summer (1988), Spies Inc. (1992), and See You in the Morning (1993). (1989). Her television work included critically acclaimed miniseries like Ellis Island (1984) and Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story (1985), as well as a healthy dose of what Alice refers to as “kitchen sink dramas.”

Habitat (1997), The Commissioner (1998), and Molokai (1998), in addition to numerous television roles (including appearances on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) and Becker (1998). (1999). One notable exception was the film Star Trek: First Contact (1996), for which she received a 1997 Saturn Award for her portrayal of the Borg Queen.

This is without a doubt her most commercial, mainstream film. Krige played the Borg Queen in the 1996 film Star Trek: First Contact, but she did not reprise her role in Star Trek: Voyager (1995). Susanna Thompson played the Borg Queen four times on Voyager, but she was unavailable during the filming of the series’ final episode (she was not confident in her shooting schedule for Once and Again (1999)), so Krige took over the role for the finale. She received the 1982 Laurence Olivier

Theatre Award (1981 season) for Most Promising Newcomer in the production of George Bernard Shaw’s “Arms and the Man” at the Lyric Theatre (London). In the film Star Trek: First Contact, a 4.5-inch Star Trek action figure was made in her likeness as the Borg Queen (1996). Is one of two well-known “Star Trek” villains who will reprise their roles. She portrayed the Borg Queen in both Star Trek: First Contact (1996) and the series finale Star Trek: Voyager: Endgame (2001).

In London, England, he studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She graduated from Rhodes University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a BA Hons degree in drama (1975). In April 2004, she was awarded an honorary Litt.D degree (Doctor of Letters) by the university. Krige was John Harrison’s first choice to play Lady Jessica in the miniseries Dune (2000), but she was unable to do so due to scheduling conflicts. However, because actress Saskia Reeves was unavailable for the miniseries Children of Dune (2003) (she had to withdraw from the miniseries due to pregnancy),

Krige has reoffered the role. To prepare for her role as cult leader Christabella in the horror film Silent Hill (2006), she read “The End of Days” by Erna Paris, a book about tyranny during the Spanish Inquisition. She did not enjoy the role, believing that her character was too manipulative and evil. In the horror film Sleepwalkers, she collaborated with Ron Perlman (1992). Krige appeared in Star Trek: First Contact (1996), and Perlman appeared in Star Trek: Nemesis (1997). (2002).

She is one of only five actors, along with James Cromwell, Jeremy Roberts, Boris Lee Krutonog, and Jack Shearer, to have first played a character in a “Star Trek” film She portrayed the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact (1996) and later reprised her role in Star Trek: Voyager: Endgame (2001). She grew up with two brothers and was the daughter of Dr. Louis Krige, a physician, and his wife Patricia, a psychology professor (both of whom became physicians).

Despite the fact that they play mother and son in the 1992 horror film Sleepwalkers, Krige is less than 15 years older than Brian Krause, who plays her son. She won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1997 for her performance as the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact (1996). Elmo de Witt discovered her and she made her film debut in Vergeet My Niece (1976).

Her ancestors are Afrikaner (Dutch, German, and French Huguenot), English, and Irish. Her surname is pronounced Kree-guh.  One day on set, I noticed that whenever a Borg moved up to the coffee table, whoever was there would sort of slowly retreating. So the Borg was not only in pain, but they
