He is currently one of the six contestants on the ITV game show The Chase, where he is well known for his considerable writing and performance work for BBC Radio 4 Extra. Dulwich College and St. George’s Hospital Medical School were his educational institutions of choice. Sinha used to work as a general practitioner, and he received his certification in the 1990s.
During his time in medical school, he participated in St. George’s annual revue, where he developed a flair for the stage, and he worked to perfect his comedic timing as a co-editor of the medical school newspaper, which was more commonly referred to as the Slag Mag. While Sinha was working as a junior doctor in hospitals in London and King’s Lynn, he also launched his career as a stand-up comedian. In his earlier work, he frequently employed puns and made references to his sexual orientation and ethnic background. In 1999, he competed in the final round of the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition and finished in third place.
Sinha’s breakthrough came with his second solo show at Edinburgh, titled Saint or Sinha? which garnered him a nomination for an if. comedies award in 2006. On BBC Radio 4, Sinha has appeared numerous times, most notably on series such as The News Quiz, The Now Show, Loose Ends, 28 Acts in 28 Minutes, Shappi Talk, and Just a Minute. Because of his passion for football (he supports Liverpool F.C.) and cricket, he has made several appearances on BBC Radio 5 Live, the most notable of which was on Fighting Talk, where he won the Champion of Champions finale on two separate occasions. Additionally, he has been seen on Talksport.

In July of 2012, he penned and presented a program on BBC Radio 4 titled “The Sinha Games.” The show was centered on the Olympic Games and his perspective as a native Londoner.
Sinha began writing and performing his debut series for BBC Radio 4 in December 2014. The series was titled Paul Sinha’s History Revision. In May 2016, a second series was released, which went on to win the Rose d’Or for Radio Comedy.
