Lynda Day George Bio

Lynda Louise Day George is a well-known American film and television actress who was born on December 11, 1944. Her career lasted three decades, beginning in the 1960s and continuing into the 1980s. She appeared in the original run of Mission: Impossible, which aired from 1971 to 1973. In addition to that, she was married to the actor Christopher George. George was born in the city of San Marcos in the state of Texas. She began her career in the 1960s with the Eileen Ford modeling agency, working as a top model in print and television advertising.

After that, she moved on to Broadway, where she starred in The Devils with Jason Robards and Anne Bancroft. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles and launched a successful long-term career in television, appearing as a guest star on a number of popular television shows during the 1960s, including Route 66, Flipper, Here Come the Brides, The Green Hornet, Mannix, The Fugitive, The Invaders, It Takes a Thief, The Virginian, Good Morning World, Lancer, and Bonanza.

Fear No Evil, the first of two Universal/NBC TV-pilot films centered on the psychiatrist and paranormal investigator Dr. David Sorrell (who was portrayed by Louis Jourdan), featured her as a leading actress. The film was released in 1969. George also played the role of Barnaby Jones in the episodes “Stand in for Death” (1973) and “Double Vengeance” (1975), both of which were broadcast.

She made her debut in a leading role as Amelia Cole in the 1970–1971 television series The Silent Force, which was canceled after only one season, and she went on to feature in the television pilot for Cannon the following year, in 1971. In the same year, she was cast in the role of Lisa Casey in the highly acclaimed series Mission: Impossible, for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award in 1972 and a nomination for the Emmy Award in 1973. Due to her maternity leave during the previous season of the show, she was temporarily replaced by Barbara Anderson for the seven episodes that she was unable to appear in.

While she was still married to her first husband, she had her first encounter with actor Christopher George. At the time, both of them were working as models for Eileen Ford. They both had roles in the independent film The Gentle Rain, which was released in 1966. They had previously worked together on the film Chisum, which John Wayne directed in 1970. During this time, they found themselves working together again and fell in love.

After that, she changed her name to Lynda Day George and co-starred alongside her husband in a number of television films over the course of the subsequent ten years. Some of these films include The House on Greenapple Road (1970), Mayday at 40,000 Feet! (1976), and Cruise Into Terror (1978). In addition, they collaborated on episodes of the television shows The F.B.I. (1970), Mission: Impossible (1971), McCloud (1975), Love Boat (1977), and Vega$ (1978). In 1976, they appeared as guest stars on the television show Wonder Woman, with Lynda playing the evil Fausta Grables, also known as the Nazi Wonder Woman.

Throughout the decade of the 1970s, she continued to work in television, appearing in guest parts on shows such as Police Story, Kung Fu, Marcus Welby, M.D., and Barnaby Jones. Rich Man, Poor Man, Roots, and Once an Eagle were the films in which she appeared in supporting roles. She had appearances on the game shows Match Game ’77 and Tattletales in 1977, the latter of which she appeared on alongside her husband Christopher.

Her cinematic career is best known for her roles in a number of legendary horror films, including Day of the Animals (1977), Pieces (1982), and Mortuary (1983), all of which she co-starred in alongside her husband Christopher. In the 1980 horror picture Beyond Evil, she also appeared alongside John Saxon in a co-starring role. Christopher George, who was 52 years old when he passed away on November 28, 1983, had a heart attack.

After that, she only appeared in guest appearances on shows such as Murder She Wrote, Blacke’s Magic, Hardcastle and McCormick, and Fantasy Island. Each time she appeared on Fantasy Island, she portrayed a different character. In addition to that, she appeared frequently as a guest on a variety of religious programs that are broadcast on television. Lynda played Lisa Casey once again in an episode of the Mission: Impossible television series that was brought back to life in 1989. This was one of the very last times she appeared on stage.

George made the announcement that she is prepared to resume her acting career in 2021. She had her first child, a son named Nicky when she was married to Joseph Pantano from 1963 to 1970. She moved away from Pantano in order to be with Christopher George. She wed him on May 15, 1970, and remained married to him until he passed away on November 28, 1983; during their marriage, they had one daughter named Casey.

They initiated legal action in order to have it established in court that Nicky Pantano is Christopher’s biological son. Lynda George tied the knot for the third time with actor and producer Doug Cronin in the year 1990; Cronin passed away from cancer on December 4, 2010, and the couple shared homes in Los Angeles and Gardiner, Washington. During an interview that took place on January 17, 2020, with entertainment correspondent Ed Robertson of TV Confidential, George said that she was working on a memoir of her acting career with a biographer. The memoir would be written in collaboration with the biographer. The book is now being worked on under the working title Lynda Day George: A Hollywood Memoir.
