Kimberly J. Brown Bio

Kimberly Jean Brown is an American actress who is most known for her role as the young witch Marnie Piper in the Halloweentown movie, in which she featured Debbie Reynolds. Brown is best remembered for this role, which she played alongside Reynolds. Prior to being cast as Marnie, Brown gained renown for her roles as Marah Lewis on Guiding Light, where she was the third actress to play the part, and as Annie Wheaton in the Rose Red miniseries, which was an original miniseries created by Stephen King. Marnie was the role that brought Brown to the attention of the casting directors.

In addition, she had a role in the critically praised film Tumbleweeds. When Brown was still a child, she started her acting career. By the time Brown was 11 years old, she had already achieved success as a child model with Ford Models, acted in many Broadway productions, and been nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Marah Lewis on Guiding Light. Brown’s career began when she was only a toddler. She also gained success as a voice actor, providing her voice to a number of projects including advertisements, the animated film A Bug’s Life, and the English version of the video game Vampire Princess Miyu.

Brown was given the role of 13-year-old Marnie Piper, a young witch who is anxious to learn magic from her grandmother Aggie, who was portrayed by Debbie Reynolds when she was cast in her most prominent film at the age of 13. The film was an original production by the Disney Channel and was titled Halloweentown. In September 2016, Brown spoke on her experience during the film’s casting process, during which she was asked to respond to a scenario in which it was revealed that the character Marnie is a witch. Before being chosen for the part, Brown had two auditions for it.

On October 17, 1998, Disney Channel broadcast the first episode of Halloweentown. The show was favorably appreciated by viewers, which led to the production of three sequels. Brown played the character of Marnie in two of the sequels. In the fourth chapter, titled Return to Halloweentown, she was replaced with Sara Paxton, a choice about which Brown voiced perplexity and dismay. Some of the most influential voices in the entertainment industry, as well as fans of the series, voiced their displeasure with the way Paxton portrayed the role. According to BuzzFeed, the first three Halloween films were the finest thing about the franchise, while the fourth picture was best ignored, and according to MTV, fans should behave as if the fourth film had never occurred.

In addition to her role in the Disney Channel original movie Halloweentown, Brown also had a starring role in the year 2000’s film Quints. In the film Tumbleweeds, which was released in 1999, Brown featured with Janet McTeer. The movie was met with favorable critical reception. In an interview in 2010, Brown said that she was very close to completing her undergraduate degree; however, she did not reveal what her major was or the institution where she was enrolled at the time. She stated publicly for the first time in 2018 that she had graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

In 2016, she reunited with Daniel Kountz, who had previously appeared in Halloweentown II, with the purpose of creating a Halloweentown-themed project for Brown’s YouTube channel. Shortly afterward, the two started dating. Brown made the announcement of their engagement in June of 2022.

In May of 2021, it was revealed that she has become a part of the cast of General Hospital. Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz are enjoying every minute of the joyous process of preparing for their future wedding to one another to the fullest. “We’re enjoying it for now,” Kountz, 43, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “There’s a lot of other stuff going on, so we’re going to take our time, plan, and figure out everything that needs to be figured out.”

“Right now, we’re just basking in the glow of engagement,” he continues. “We couldn’t be happier.” “And referring to each other as their fiancés.” Brown, now 37 years old, and Kountz first appeared on screen together in Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, which aired on the Disney Channel 21 years ago. The personality of Brown Early on in the movie, Marnie Piper, a young witch who was just starting to comprehend her abilities, had her eyes set on her crush Kal, who was played by Kountz.

But when she attempted to impress him by showing him her grandmother’s magical chamber, she quickly discovered that he was the son of the terrible warlock Kalabar, who was plotting to destroy Halloweentown. There was no romantic relationship between the two people throughout that time period. In October of this past year, Brown and Kountz discussed their relationship in further detail with E! News. They disclosed that they had maintained a casual connection for a number of years prior to deciding to finally meet one another in person.

“I know it took me by surprise,” Kountz recalls saying. “I hadn’t seen her in years, and I was waiting, and I was sitting at the bar waiting for her, and she came walking in, and I was like, ‘Well hello there, it’s been a while, hello!'” So it was pretty much immediately away that I was like, “damn girl,” when I found out about it.

“We never would have met each other and reconnected later and we wouldn’t be sitting here now and she’s a pretty awesome lady,” he continued. “If it wasn’t for the movie, we never would have met each other.” “Everything just fell into place perfectly in the end.” Additionally, Brown said that it was great “being able to reconnect and kind of reintroduce ourselves to each other in a way.” It’s like saying, “I know you, but I don’t know you very well, so let’s talk about life and stuff,” but without the “very well.” Let’s get to know each other better,’

Brown recently explained this to PEOPLE by saying, “At the time, we were just friends who worked together.” “That is a question that is asked quite frequently now: was there any kind of dating interest or flirting back then?” In addition, there was none. That didn’t start happening until a long time later when we got back in touch after a few years apart.
