Jenilee Harrison Bio

The initial cast of “Three’s Company” consisted of Suzanne Somers, Joyce DeWitt, and John Ritter. They played roommates in Santa Monica named Jack Tripper, Janet Wood, and Chrissy Snow. But after five seasons, a fresh visitor came to see them and knocked on their door. 1980 saw the introduction of Jenilee Harrison as a replacement for Somers, who had been let go from the program due to her wage demands. During the first two seasons of the ABC comedy, Harrison portrayed Chrissy Snow’s cousin, a country girl named Cindy Snow.

The character was well-known for her clumsy actions and comedic antics of the slapstick kind. Harrison’s “Three’s Company” character was similarly presented as ditzy, much as Somers’s character had been before her on “Three’s Company,” but the former comedy actress has confessed that it wasn’t entirely fictitious. Harrison disclosed this information at a reunion for the 40th anniversary of the television show “Three’s Company,” when she discussed how the authors “incorporated a lot” of who she was at the time into the scripts. In an interview with Antenna TV, she said, “I was really young when I got on that show, 19 or 20 years old,” and she was referring to her age at the time. “So there you have it; I was, in all honesty, quite naive.”

A fansite dedicated to the television show “Three’s Company” claims that despite the fact that Harrison is no longer active in the acting industry, she spends her time participating in activities such as caring for animals and racing vehicles. On the other hand, it seems that she longs for the days when she was a TV star. According to Tribune Media, in 2017, she participated in the ’70s Rock & Romance Cruise with her old co-star Richard Kline, who played Larry Dallas on the television show “Three’s Company.” The decade of the 1980s was a fruitful one for adolescent comedies in general, but even amid the other movies in the category, the works of John Hughes stood out as exceptional examples of the form. Hughes tracked the adolescent experience in ways that both critics and viewers grew to enjoy in a series of films starting with Sixteen Candles in 1984. He created a string of unforgettable storylines that fans still love even to this day.

Although the character of Ferris Bueller would go on to become the defining role of the first decade of Matthew Broderick’s career and still makes him a recognized figure today, the role of computer hacker David in the cybercrime “WarGames” was really Matthew Broderick’s breakthrough performance, which occurred three years earlier. Soon after, he appeared in films such as “Ladyhawke,” and in 1986, John Hughes put him in the lead character of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” which catapulted him to stardom and made him everyone’s favorite ambitious adolescent slacker. The movie provided Matthew Broderick with some of the most memorable sequences and lines of dialogue he has ever had during his whole career.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was added to John Hughes’s already remarkable résumé of adolescent comedies in 1986. The film tells the narrative of a young man who is sick of school and chooses to utilize his brilliance, resourcefulness, and resolve not to study, but rather to have the finest fake sick day in the history of the world. The script was so strong that even the actors who played minor parts in the movie were catapulted to immediate icon status. Matthew Broderick was one of the actors who benefited from the film’s success. Fans of the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off can still identify each and every one of the performers in the movie even though it has been out for decades. This is what they’re all doing at the moment.

After the success of Ferris, Matthew Broderick had a consistent career in the film and television industries. In the decade that followed the release of the picture, the actor appeared in parts such as “Glory,” “The Freshman,” “The Lion King,” and “The Cable Guy.” Other notable appearances include those in “Godzilla,” “Election,” and “Inspector Gadget,” among others. In 2001, Matthew Broderick, a seasoned stage actor whose credits on Broadway date all the way back to the early 1980s, was cast in a prominent part in Mel Brooks’s “The Producers,” one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful musicals of the 21st century. Broderick played one of the producers. He continues to split his time between the stage and the screen, with some of his most recent endeavors including appearances in 2019 on the television shows “Daybreak” and “Better Things.”

It didn’t take the creators of the show very long to decide to kill off Harrison’s character. By the sixth season, Cindy had declared that she would be leaving the flat to attend school at UCLA, and by that point, Priscilla Barnes had arrived on the show as a lot less clumsy new roommate named Nurse Terri Alden. According to “Three’s Company” historian Chris Mann, Harrison was never given much of an opportunity to step into Somers’ shoes. “Jenilee was, I think, too young and thrown in there with little direction,” he said in an interview with Closer Weekly in 2019. He pointed out that Barnes did a little bit better than Chrissy did since she wasn’t portrayed as a replica of Chrissy. Fortunately for her, Jenilee Harrison was able to avoid being typecast as a simple-minded blonde.

After she left “Three’s Company” in 1982, she was hired for a successful stint as Jamie Ewing on the CBS drama “Dallas.” During the 1990s, she was also featured in a number of informational commercials, like this one for a product called the “Infinite Dress.” According to IMDb, Harrison continued to act on and off during the 1980s and 1990s, but her last credit was for the television movie “The Power,” which aired in 2002.

Since then, she has been concentrating her efforts on the real estate investments she has made in California. According to UPI, Harrison has been married to renowned chiropractor Bruce Oppenheim for close to a quarter of a century, making him the ex-husband of Cybill Shepherd. According to an article published in 2003 by the Los Angeles Times, the affluent couple bought two properties in 2003: one was a ranch in Agoura Hills and the other was in Sherman Oaks. The publication made mentioned at the time that Harrison was also working on various television-producing projects that were in the works.
