Iker Casillas Fernandez was on May 20, 1981. He is a famous Spanish footballer who plays goalkeeper for both Porto of Portugal and the Spanish national team. Because of his incredible saves, he is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of all time.

On May 20, 1981, the Spanish football star was born into a supportive family in Madrid. His parents’ names are also unusual: José Luis Casillas and Maria del Carmen Fernandez Gonzalez. His mother was a hairdresser, while his father, Jose Luis Casillas, was a schoolteacher. Unai Casillas is his older brother. Iker Casillas has an older brother named Unai who is seven years older.

Iker Casillas’s parents, José Luis Casillas, a civil servant at the Ministry of Education, and Maria del Carmen Fernandez Gonzalez, a hairdresser, had him on May 20, 1981, in Mostoles, a province of Madrid. Martin Lucas and Martin Lucas Casillas are the sons of Iker and Sara Casillas, who wed in 2016.

Iker Casillas was the first Spanish captain to lead his country to a World Cup victory, which he accomplished in 2010 in South Africa. He has also won other major international honors, including the UEFA Euro Cup in 2008 and 2012. Iker Casillas spent the bulk of his professional career with Real Madrid, the dominant team in Spain. During his time there, he won three Champions League titles, five La Liga titles, and the FIFA World Cup.

The doctors determined that Iker was having a heart attack and began treating him right away. The hospitalization and treatment with a catheter saved the life of the captain of the 2010 World Cup champion Spanish soccer team. A course of events in which the reverse occurred.

He was usually a conventional defender, but he could fill in at right-back or the other fullback positions. He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive players and captains in history, and his reputation precedes him. Casillas has been a member of the Spanish national team since June of 2000, and he has made a record 167 appearances. In terms of international caps, he is tied for second all-time among European players and sixth all-time among men.

He was a standout in goal for his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, as well as the UEFA Euro 2004 and 2006 World Cups. He was named captain in 2008 and guided his side to a championship at the 2008 European Championship. He led Spain to their first World Cup in 2010 and their second European Championship in 2012 while serving as captain. Casillas joined an elite group of four players in 2014 when he appeared in his fourth World Cup for Spain.

Iker Casillas finished in fourth place among goalkeepers nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2008. In 2012, he set a new record by being voted into the UEFA Team of the Year for the sixth time in his career. When it comes to goalkeepers, Casillas holds the record for most appearances in both the FIFPro World XI and the UEFA Champions League. In addition to his eligibility with Real Madrid and Spain, he has played in more than 1,000 professional matches and won every major club and international trophy.

Casillas began his professional career with Real Madrid’s La Fábrica youth program during the 1990–91 season. First called up to the senior team squad on November 27, 1997, when he was still a junior, he sat on the bench for the entire match against Rosenborg in the UEFA Champions League. After spending an entire season with the club’s reserve squad in the fourth division, he was in the running to be the starting goalkeeper for the club.

His career has gone forward without him having to look back ever since. He became well-known for his exceptional goalkeeping abilities after demonstrating them in a number of tournaments. He made history in May of 2000 when Real Madrid beat Valencia 3-0 in the Champions League final and he was the winning goalkeeper. Due to his poor play in the 2001-02 La Liga season, Casillas was benched in favor of the more experienced Cesar Sanchez.

Sanchez had to come back in the dying minutes of the 2002 Champions League final after getting hurt. Real Madrid prevailed 2-1 thanks to Casillas’s heroic return in goal. Casillas had a successful 2007–08 season, during which he helped Real Madrid win the league championship for the 31st time. During that season, he allowed only 32 goals in 36 matches, earning him the Zamora trophy. Casillas became Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalkeeper in February 2009, at the tender age of 27. He also tied Paco Buyo’s record of 454 matches played by a goalie.

Casillas was named Real Madrid’s first captain for the 2010-11 season, and he was joined by new vice-captains Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, and Gonzalo Higuain. He became the first goalie in football history to win the IFFHS Best Goalkeeper title for a fourth consecutive year the following season.

Casillas won his sixth La Liga championship on May 2, 2012, and his first as Real Madrid’s captain, with a 3-0 victory over Bilbao. For the fifth year in a row, he was named the IFFHS’s Best Goalkeeper in 2012–13. Under his leadership, Real Madrid triumphed in the 2014 Champions League Final on May 24. As a result of this victory, he was named the starting goalkeeper for the club’s 2014–15 campaign.

Casillas made his debut for Spain at the under-17 level of international competition.  On June 3, 2000, at the tender age of 19, Casillas made his senior national team debut against Sweden.

He was one of the youngest starting goalkeepers at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, at the tender age of 21. FIFA ranked one of his saves during the quarterfinal match against South Korea in 2002 as one of the best 10 saves of all time. He started all eight games in Group 6 for Euro 2004 qualifying and allowed only four goals. For the 2008 European Championships, he was named captain.
