Eleanor Winifred Worthington Cox is a well-known English actress who hails from Merseyside. She was born on June 21, 2001. most well-known for her performance as Matilda Wormwood in the musical Matilda, for which she was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical in 2012, making her the youngest winner of any Olivier Award in any category at the time. Eleanor was only ten years old at the time.

Because of her performance as Janet Hodgson in “The Enfield Haunting,” she was put in consideration for a British Academy Television Award nomination. In the television adaptation of Jacqueline Wilson’s novel Hetty Feather that was produced by the CBBC, she played the role of Polly Renfrew. She is a main character in the series Britannia, which airs on Sky Atlantic right now.

Worthington Cox attended the Formby School of Performing Arts beginning when he was just two years old in 2003 and continuing until he was twelve years old in 2012. Before he became famous for his role in Matilda, Worthington Cox performed in the chorus of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which was directed by Bill Kenwright and shown at the Liverpool Empire. In September of 2011, it was revealed that Worthington Cox would be one of four girls who would be portraying the lead role of Matilda in the musical production of Matilda.
