April Bowlby Bio

April was born on July 30, 1980, in the city of Vallejo, California, United States. Little is known about her background or childhood beyond the fact that she and her family relocated to Manteca, California when she was a child. She completed her secondary school at an establishment called East Union High School. California’s “Moorpark College,” located in Moorpark, Ventura County, is where she completed her undergraduate studies.

She learned ballet, French, and marine biology at the institution. When she was younger, she fantasized about a future as a dancer. Bowlby made her debut in the glitzy and thrilling world of show business as a model. Subsequently, she decided to make a living in the acting industry and enrolled in classes with Ivana Chubbuck, an acting instructor who has coached the likes of Sharon Stone, Brad Pitt, and Beyoncé.

Bowlby uprooted his life and headed to the Hollywood Hills in California to pursue a career in film acting. She first appeared on screen as an “extra” named “Kaitlin Rakish” in an episode of the CBS forensic crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” titled “Eating Gilbert Grissom?” She made her acting debut in this role. Since then, she’s made appearances on shows including CSI: New York and Freddie (2005) as a guest star.

A recurring role as “Kandi/Kimber” on the CBS comedy “Two and a Half Men” in its third season was her big break in the industry. Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer were the stars of the show. She was credited as a series regular in the fourth season, a guest star in the tenth, and a series regular again in the twelfth. In total, she appeared in 17 episodes.

Meanwhile, on July 28, 2007, she portrayed “Heather” in the Sci-Fi Channel original film “Sands of Oblivion,” directed by David Flores. In addition, she was seen in four episodes of the CBS comedy series “How I Met Your Mother” playing the role of “Meg.” It wasn’t until 2008’s “All Roads Lead Home” that she finally got to star in a full-length film. The “International Family Film Festival,” to which the film was submitted, awarded her the prize for “Best Feature Drama” for her work in the film. The title of the film was “Natasha.”

She portrayed “Mia” in Broken Lizard’s comedic feature film The Slammin’ Salmon. Starting on December 11, 2009, the film was played in select cinemas across the United States after having its international premiere at the “Slamdance Film Festival” on January 17, 2009. The vast majority of critics had negative reactions to it. The role of the lead character “Stacy Barrett” in the American legal comedy-drama/fantasy series “Drop Dead Diva” was her second notable television project.

It is generally agreed that her role is her most significant to date. She played the part from the pilot on July 12, 2009, through the series’ conclusion on June 22, 2014, spanning six seasons on the ‘Lifetime’ network. The success of the series increased her profile not only in the United States but around the world. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Australia, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany were among the countries that broadcast it on television.

She plays the harsh and self-centered “Olivia” in the American romantic comedy “From Prada to Nada,” directed by Angel Gracia. The film premiered on January 28, 2011, in a limited number of cinemas around the United States. It earned $3,000,000 in total. While filming the TV movie Marriage of Lies, she played the major role of Rachel Wilson.

On May 21, 2016, the film had its premiere in the United States, and in 2017, it opened in France and Spain. She played the role of “Katie Tate” in the 2016 TV comedy “The Engagement Clause,” formerly titled “Married by Christmas.” In addition to its initial release on November 6 in the United States, it also premiered in the United Kingdom, France, and Spain later that same year.

Her episode as Rebecca on “The Big Bang Theory,” titled “The Separation Agitation,” aired as the show’s thirteenth episode in its tenth season. The CBS broadcast premiered this episode on April 13, 2017. The series was created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. She starred as “Nikki” in the same year’s “A Mother’s Crime” TV movie alongside Jenny Gabrielle and Matt Page. Canada released it to the public on August 21, and then it was released in Spain and France shortly after.

In the first live-action debut of the ‘DC Comics superheroine Elasti-Girl, Bowlby portrayed the role. This appearance took place in the TV series Titans. The premiere episode premiered on October 12, 2018. The spin-off series, titled “Doom Patrol,” will premiere in 2019, and Bowlby will play a pivotal role.
